Nexus comes with 2.3.4 and use Hotspot (free tethering)

but HOW will they be able to block it. The only way of knowing is if an app authenticates your paying for it. Which they shouldnt be able to do it ya know. So im not sure how, anyone have insight let me know.

When I picked mine up, the sprint rep warned me that I will be charged for using it. They said there should be an update within the week to fix this issue.

I don't understand how they'll be able to block it. Doesn't Google control the software?

Sprint cant block it. Just looked on the Nexus S forums and they still have it free on their Tmobile Nexus that came out 4 months ago. I suppose if Sprint REALLY got pissy with Google about it, Google might try and remove it but thats very unlikely.

When I bought mine today, the best buy rep told me that sprint would charge 29.99 a month for it and even tried to sign me up for the plan add-on. lol

Sprint can block it....and you will have to pay. This isn't a free trial...its a glitch that will be fixed soon. If you're using it I would suggest you stop.

I saw on Google's official Nexus site that the tethering ability of the phone may cost you depending on carrier.

"Portable Wi-Fi hotspot

Nexus S can function as a Wi-Fi hotspot for up to six portable devices such as laptops or tablets. Once connected, these devices will have access to the Internet.*

*Additional fees may apply based on carrier policy."

Are you the Sprint police? How will they fix this glitch? Google pushes updates to the phone, not Sprint.
