Nexus Excitement Dying Down?

Actually no, "dies down" implies there was a level of excitement to being with, hence the decrease. You've been negative from the beginning. And phrasing your posts like a first year law student/philosophy minor doesn't make your failed assertions valid.

Enacting the power of implication once more, if you look at my original post, you'll see that I stated that I felt robbed, which implies an excitement over my past perceptions of the device, and after those perceptions were shattered, my excitement decreased. So once more, my original contention is on topic.

Once you get your hands on this badboy the excitement will come back.

My excitement has died down a little... but I am certain it is only temporary. When the date is released I will be SUPER EXCITED and when it is actually in my hands I will be so gleeful...
This. I'll probably wait outside in the freezing cold for the delivery.

Yeah. Don't worry. At least I have zelda to last me through a week or so. I need to get away from the internet for like a week.

My excitement died entirely. I got to thinking about Nexus vs Rezound. Spec-wise, the Rezound is better if not equal to everything Samsung is putting into the Nexus.
It seems obvious, but I realized ICS was the only thing going for the Nexus. Then I saw the lack of flash support and Nexus' lack of USB Mass Storage. These have been pretty much staples of Android since what, Eclair or Donut? I can't rationalize the removal of basic features.
Add in the volume rocker issue supposedly due to Samsung's faulty radio or it being a weird ICS bug, and I realized I can rely on the proven and vetted Gingerbread that's on the Rezound.
Besides, less than a year from now we'll have Tegra 3 and quad cores with ICS. If I've learned anything from waiting so long, it's that I have the patience of a saint thanks to Google.

Adobe says Flash on ICS by year end. And there was a really nice explanation on why the GN and even the NS don't have UMS, but MTP instead. In most cases, it won't effect your use.

Also, UMS is still in ICS, just not supported on devices without SD cards.

if anyone thinks the excitement has died down, its probably due to the fact that the false rumors and speculation are taking a toll. once an official date is officially announced by verizon, youll proabably see a huge second wind of energy from everyone that has their heart set on the phone

My excitement has died a bit yes... The wife and i went to the ATT store and were checking out the Skyrocket... Omg! Why is this ATT LTE phone sooooo much thinner then VZW's LTE offerings? All 7 screens packed with widgets, live wallpaper running and uptime of almost 300 hours, the phone was running lag free flawless no matter what i did to it.. Really tempted by this device... I was wondering how odd this phone would look though with the capacitive buttons and then when it gets ICS how the buttonless part would look or work... Was a beautiful device never the less.. We stopped into the VZW store afterwards. I hate the styling of the razor, and the bionic looks like it was more human with its fat figure, holy hell... Im also worried that the Verizon version will be just that, Verizons version and controlled as such... I dont think they know what a Nexus truly is. Im scared and have been looking at other options because of all the delays, and they do look pretty sweet, and none are on VZW network... :-( ... Btw i call them delays despite the end of the year statement vzw made as slowly the rest of the world gets this device, yet we have not a hint of a clue about when we are... My interest is dying in VZW as well i guess you can say...

My excitement has diminished slightly since it was introduced, but I've always kept my eyes on the prize, even when VZW tempted me with the Razr.

I'll be getting the GN when it's released.

As far as those that seem to think this phone is light on the hardware front, seem to forget the Nexus phones are all about the software.
Hardware and software working harmoniously together to make a super stable, smooth experience.

Just remember all the issues people were having on their phones when upgrading from Froyo to Gingerbread. Just imagine the problems ICS will bring.

While my general want/ need (broken phone) for the device hasnt died down, im definitely a little more disconnected. I was at the point where every day id check these forums and a few others just pulling at any info we got. After waiting for this phone since Phil rumored it to be coming to Verizon so long ago, ive seen so many false starts and downers that ive kind of moved on. I still view these websites once or twice a day but im really not expecting anything from it. This whole thing for me was like a huge intake of caffeine followed by an enormous crash back down to a place of complacency and patience.

yes my excitement has died down personally. Between the wait and a few bits of information that have come out since the UK launch, Ive decided to order the Razr. I like the build quality and want a strong radio, by time ICS comes out for it there will be flash support and the kinks worked out.

the nexus is very nice, I just am ready to get away from a Samsung.. its probably the same "grass is greener on the other side" that alot of these motorola users who want the nexus are thinking.

I'm still plenty excited for this phone! My anticipation is very high, indeed.

Unfortunately, though, there isn't much to do until the phone is announced and released on Verizon, so I think that's a major factor in a perceived sense of diminished enthusiasm, especially with rumored dates continuing to pass by.

The excitement died for me, its given me time to rationalize it. I've decided not to get it. Work gives me a phone that I need to carry with me 24/7 and I don't have to pay for it.

It doesn't make sense to me to carry around 2 phones pay all sorts of money a month just to have the internet on hand.....

If I would have learned about the phone a couple weeks before it came out I would have gotten it but its been so long I'm no longer looking forward too it...

A lot of the hype died when the phone was released. People now know what it is and what to expect. It's no longer the Nexus insert rumored name here device (although recent shots of a best buy add show it as the Nexus Prime). It's no longer a myth and people are tinkering with ICS.

I'm on Sprint, so I have no chance at using this device on the network in the near future.

The hype and excitement is for sure dying for me. It sure was disappointing going through today not getting any release date or pre-order or anything. Bummer.

It's dead to me. Not the phone, the excitement. I got the Rezound. Although i think the Nexus will be a good phone. I just don't think I need it. Im gonna load CM9 on whatever phone i guy. So i went with what has the best hardware imo.

Nope.

Frankly, I'm hoping that with the slight hardware revisions the LTE version will need, Samsung will go ahead and fix the bugs and issues with the GSM version.

And I'm pretty patient. I mean, most of us have smartphones here anyways. Don't pity yourself; pity those who have dumb phones and are waiting.
