No more SD slot?

If you like to switch phones or if you are ever in places (or travel through them) that don't have coverage or wifi,a card is a must. [Rural customers need not apply]
Also, if you use cloud storage your photo quality gets downgraded. So you have an amazing camera and screen but will have to pay whatever They say to keep the photos.

I use the SD card slot.

Weather I fill up my phone storage or what.

Couple of months ago, word had it, that there wouldn't be a note 21 ultra.

Samsung can do whatever they want.

If they want they can stop making phones all together.

I want more than a 128 gb storage phone.

If they can't make it.

I will have to change phones.

I ain't gonna just get by.

Don't care what your needs are.

I was against this the moment the first phone lost the slot and other claim to follow. I hate the ideal because of these reasons:
1.Phone are in the thousands of dollars and there is no added on's
2.Newer phones sweet spot has been 256g but now they leap from 128 to 512g for alot more money
3.For 1k and up for the cost of these phone, phone makers have take all the user configuration from them and still raise the price.

IT SUCKS

Good points! I never really considered those.

Yes sd card is still a must. It makes it much easier when changing phones and recovering photos when a phone dies unexpectedly.
But for music storage and video offline viewing it is a MUST

You raise a lot of valid points. I guess since I don't find many of those categories, it doesn't bother me as much that an SD Card slot is not a part of the hardware line-up. My husband and brother need SD Cards, so this type of thing would certainly be a deal-breaker for them.

Different strokes , right? The latest rumor is the Ultra WILL have an sd slot. So I'm back on the Crazy Train ;)

The "regular" Note 20 doesn't have one. Only thing about that phone that bothers my wife. LOL

I wouldn't rely on the SD card for anything I wanted to preserve. What if the SD card suddenly becomes unreadable, or if the whole phone gets lost or stolen? Plus I encrypt everything, including the SD card, so the card would be useless if the phone died. Cloud sync is a must.

Just think.

The note 21 Ultra don't come out till August.

And we are already having problems.

Somebody should contact Samsung USA and tell them what we think.

We want a SD card slot.

More storage and ram from the factory.

It's ironic for me. When I left the world of Blackberry, (sniffle, sniffle), I found myself looking at a Samsung S-Series & an iPhone. At that time, I really didn't know much about Android or the iOS systems. But when I realized that the iPhone didn't have an SD slot, game over. I bought the Samsung, never regretted it & continued buying Samsung phones.

So here I am on the threshold of watching the Samsung sd card slots fade away, the reason I bought a Samsung in the first place.
:(

That's so sad! I can definitely see what you are saying there. And I too miss the days of BlackBerry! I'm not sure where I will go for my next upgrade. I love my S10 but I may go back to the Pixel realm - maybe the 5 or 6, when it débuts.

The Note 20U will keep me happy for a few years. I guess we will both see what happens down the road. :)

I remember the Note 5 having no SD slot . I was fine with that. The only issue I had was the N5 only went up to 64 gb. I don't stream or put my music in the cloud so my music ate up most of my storage. Its always nice to have the extra storage though, but for me it's not needed unless they go back to 64gb phones.

Anyway with Post office losing my note 10 and att trying to make me pay for it, I'm planning on holding on to the 20 ultra with 512 storage that I'll never use up. Lol
