No, but it is multi-tasking, which was the point I was making. I don't have multi-window support either.

Thats not multi windows

Right, but MidnightWest specifically said "Wait...I know there is no Multiwindows but there isnt any multi-task out the box...isnt that standard with all new androids?"

That's what Cobravision was responding to.

That's fine, I'm just clarifying what someone was responding to. It's been established that the Note 2, at least the international version, has the multi window feature: Galaxy Note 2 multi-window - YouTube

There's nothing official that says the Sprint version will have this, but the International version actually didn't include the feature initially, but got it after a week or so in an update.

MidnightWest, however, said that in addition to MultiWindows not being there, there ALSO was a lack of "Multitask" as he called it. He wasn't very clear about what he meant by Multitask, but it was clear he was making a distinction between that and MultiWindows. Cobravision took a guess that MidnightWest's "Multitask" was referring to the ability to see the most recent apps, which in some phones has a dedicated button, but in the case of the Note 2, is activated by a long press of the main "home" button.

You then responded to that by saying it wasn't MultiWindows, but that wasn't the point of what Cobravision was trying to say. All this means is that reading carefully you can sometimes avoid long back-and-forth's like this one. I know that can sometimes be hard when reading from a mobile device, though...

This is a thread on the AT&T Note 2 topic as well. I wrote on it...but am curious myself, as my friend has the Sprint version and when I long pressed the home button I THINK that the S-Voice app came up. When I long press the 'settings'(?)/left-side flush button it takes me to Google Now...or that google Siri thing (pardon me, I'm just getting into Android for the most part...computer guy though :))

The multitask, as people seem to know it, is the 'new' bottom/side-bar of apps...from there you can also drag/enable the app for multi-window (as I've seen in the video above and others with the international model).

I guess it's confusing because there is also the multitask feature available via the home button on the Note 2 US models that is akin to the Jelly Bean OS stock feature...used similar to the 7" Nexus tablet and other stock JB devices. The S3...as I say below...using 4.0.4 OS...seems to use the home button for multitask, as it does not have JB yet in the US. Will it change with 4.1.2? Back button at that point? So much confusion! :)

Anyway, here is my reply to that AT&T Note2 topic thread...please correct me or clarify, if you can, thanks!
-------------------------
Right, I tried the TMobile and the Sprint versions and confirmed this too. No multi-task/multi-window support as of yet.

The S3 has multitask, and you must use the home button, as opposed to the 'back' button (where I therefore, couldn't figure out if they took away the 'screenshot' multitask JB method that the Note2 uses, absent the firmware that will enable multitask/multi-window). No multi-window yet for the S3, but recent announcements have said it will arrive by end-of-year on a 4.1.2 OS upgrade. Not sure if firmware is also upgraded, since I never had an android phone before.

Also, people have noted there is NO screen recorder, which may require the same/separate firmware update too. Again, will we have to wait until 4.1.2? Or do we get a firmware update for some of these missing (HUGE) features in the next few days/weeks (as the UK folks got theirs fairly quickly, I recall).

I assume the delay is partly due to the US carriers lag on testing these updates (which seemed to come late in the mix of the SGN2 announcement and leaks). They need to test their carrier specific apps and overlay. I hope I can remove some of that, as well (not sure what AT&T puts on android phones).

Also, important to note is that the marketing specs/ads do NOT tout this feature. And THIS would be a big feature to gloat about! AT&T mentions multitasking in terms of the video/s-note type pop-ups (which are also cool, no doubt). Sprint DOES mention the screen-recorder feature, in their initial press release (someone on the Sprint topics noted this). But, I guess that would make sense to clear expectations...all in all, this is a bit frustrating, yet expected (from what I've heard with Android eco-system/Samsung).

There are international phones that can download the firmware/hack...none of these downloads have any US specific models, of course.

I don't see why the US would note get this update...so, we just have to wait. Perhaps, even after Verizon get's theirs, since we don't know the way this will be rolled out in the USA.

Any word on when we will get the multi window feature yet? I am assuming it is coming in a software update soon. Would be cheese sauce to leave it off of the USA version.

S Voice will activate with a double tap of the home button, not a long press, IF that is turned on in the S Voice setting.

A long press of the back up arrow key thing is supposed to activate the multi window feature.

Please Samsung, send us the update! I would be SO pissed if they don't give that to US customers, that'd be such a blatant false advertisement!

I'm sure it will be an update for USA models, don't worry. It's a matter of when, though.

Been participating in the discussion in the VZW subforum too...and we may have gotten another clue, since we've noticed that the VZW info page for the phone HAS mentioned this (unlike AT&T's). Someone had a chat with a VZW rep about that model featuring multi-windows/task upon shipment (which will be around the 27-29th, for VZW). So, speculate based on that, for now :)

Interesting news from AC on this, today: Android 4.1.2 update for Galaxy Note could add Nature UX, multi-window feature | Android Central

So, the question remains...will this be on the Note2 at the same time as the Note1 and S3? One would think, but given the nature of updates and carrier approval/testing...it's not exactly in the bag to happen at the same time. It does bode well for a 'soon' assumption though, along with VZW customers looking to have it upon the Note2 roll-out. But, what is 'IT'? 4.1.2? Firmware update for the multi-window/task feature itself already on the VZW model?

I have AT&T too, so I am in a similar boat.

I think we have some sort of multi window already but not what you may want. When I'm checking my tweets I use (TweetCaster) and i click on tweet with a link i Press on open in browser then it ask to complete action using ( internet or popup browser ) I choose popup browser and just once. Doing this opens up the internet in a smaller window. I can search and use the popup browser for other things and still look at tweets and scroll through them.

The 'pop-up' browser/video/S-note stuff IS cool, and VERY useful no doubt...but is not what we are talking about. Check out videos on the web about this...or other threads on multitask have the links to it.

Yea I have seen the videos and was a bit lost because i couldn't do so I was thinkinh i was doing it wrong lol or I didn't turn something on in my settings. Hopefully soon we will get the update

There is another thread on this forum where someone posted the user manual for the Sprint GN2 (please check it out). After looking over it carefully, I could not find the multi window or Google Wallet features mentioned anywhere. :(

Its not mentioned because it does not have those features yet. I am still a bit worried that the multi screen will never come out. If they don't I really home the multi screen and screen recorder become available if rooted.
