Its the world we live in now.I didn't always have a great experience at Circuit City, but I kinda of miss them.It was a great place to check out the new gadgets.I pre ordered my new EVO from BB and it went ok.No complaints. Now that doesn't mean the next time I go in and run into a dingleberry of a sales associate that it'll be great, but like you said, its hit or miss. And lets be honest,us customers can be really crappy sometimes if we don't get what we want, when we want it. O:-)

The way you write on a forum is enough in my books to ban your ip so you can't post here again.

one of the reasons many experiences are hit and miss is because people go in and talk to, as you put it, any dingleberry of a sales associate. most of the stores i shop at that i buy big ticket items, i.e. electronics, suits, etc, i make a contact or two and only deal with those particular people. personal relationships with people where you shop make all experiences ten times better. these are lost now with everyone in such a rush and the mentality of just getting in and out of a store without caring who helps them. you dont just go to any random mechanic when your car needs something do you?

Glad I got three pages of posts... We pay top dollar on launches.. We demand respect and service.... This isn't McDonalds

I didn't say all sales associates are dingleberrys.Heck,my wife works as one at a big box store.I have a regular mechanic because he's always there when I go in to get my car worked on.At these big box retailers, they come and go for various reasons.Low pay, lack of hours.maybe a bad manager. There's no stability at these places. If you can go in your Best Buy and have someone you know to help you, then good for you. You'll really fortunate. But for most of us,every time we go in,it seems like its somebody new.Sometimes they are helpful, sometimes they'll not.I don't take it out on them. They'll just trying to do their job and the big impersonal corporation they work for didn't care enough to give them the proper training.I'm just saying its the world we live in now and the personal service we used to get, ain't what it used to be.I was just trying to put my two cents in about the guy who wrote fbb, don't buy from BB and hopes they go the way Circuit City because of a bad experience he had.Well welcome to the real world. When you go into one these big box stores, you don't know how its going to go.You get the guy who hates his job and has a piss poor attitude or you could get the person that goes above and beyond to help you.Its a crap shoot. That's all I'm saying. Whew. That's more then I wanted to say.I think I feel better now.I'm going now and have a doughnut with my dogs. ;)

I have dealt with three different BB's over the past two weeks due to defective HTC EVO 4G LTE devices.

Of the three sales folks I have dealt with and two of them were Mobile leads, all have been nothing short of excellent to deal with.

I used to manage retail 30 years ago and I know what makes a great experience and keeps folks coming back especially when the situation could be tainted by a defective product which you have no control over.

All three people were knowledgeable about the product, Sprints activation process and how to handle their own internal hoops to get me taken care of quickly.

Certainly not all sales associates are this good, but let's be honest now....you sound like a spoiled child with your rants and chants rather than a rather than a rational adult...which is what I would assume you wanted to deal with in your BB experience.

I hope you were referring to the thread author and not me.Of course,I always thought David Hasselhoff was a great singer,so I can't claim to be rational. :p

Exactly you go in to window shop and buy it cheaper elsewhere

Although I have a very negative opinion of best buy in general, I am not retailer loyal (rather, I'll follow the lowest price)

Best Buy had a fantastic offer ($50 from wireless freedom and $50 for preodering)
I paid $116 and had a fantastic, smooth experience. Prob not enough to change my opinion (nearly every time I go, i should have a positive experience) but I thought I would share, just like the OP

Cool now do me a solid and never shop there again... Thanks...

If you go to a store and come off with the same tone you do on the forums then i would give you piss pore service too.

My BB experience was a great one so shop on people and dont worry about one persons tall tales of misfortune...

My BB experience in getting my EVOLTE was quite good. There was a bit of a slow down as the associate was new and didn't know how to apply the promotions, but he was apologetic and was very nice, so the delay wasn't a big deal.

I am not going to stop going to BB just because the OP had an issue. If I stopped going to a retail store every time someone had a bad experience, I would never be able to enter a store again.

I don't get all the BlackBerry hate.....
I kid, I kid!
I'm not a big fan of best buy but I go there all the time. What are the alternatives? Walmart? Target? Radio Shack (shudder).
My rules for going to best buy are:
1.NEVER expect the sales associates to know the answer to any technical question. Do your research BEFORE you spend money there.
2. ALWAYS price check before checkout. Many times the online price is lower than the marked price. They have always honored their online price.
3. Don't be a dick. I've heard a lot of wrong info coming from sales folks. I've seen one argument between a shopper and a sales person. Even though the shopper was right he seemed like a complete dick. My advice, just get your stuff and GTFO.

One question, why are you buying phones at best buy? What's wrong with ordering them online?

I admit it...I love boycotts... But my hard earned money doesn't get walked on... Run a business correctly or fail... Time will tell the fate of yet another big box company with poor management... And that is my close to this thread... Don't reward people who f things up... But damn this phone is worth overlooking sprint HA

Circuit City is still alive at circuitcity.com They even have the LTE. Now, this is a guy who bought all of the rights to CC after they liquidated, did the same with Tiger Direct and CompUSA. I know it's not the same, but had to say it :-)

I understand your position on bb. I pre-ordered on 5/22. They finally changed my status on Saturday 6/2 and said shipped. Then I find out today, that they really did not ship it, just held onto it for UPS today. Now I'm looking at Friday 6/8 for deliver after everyone and their mother already got this phone. This is not forgivable. Pre-order means ship it to me when you are stocking your F-em BB stores, not the next week when everyone already has the phone.

I feel bad for the BB gal that was just following up on my survey completed a couple months ago on the state of BB. I emailed back about these current problems and the lack of communication I have received from BB.

Now I have to sit and watch the Forums and everyone talking about a phone I cannot physically handle until Friday. Lesson learned, go into sprint's store next time just like every time before.

Funny, I pre-ordered on a Saturday then the following Sunday cancelled my order after the "indefinite release date". got an email 3 days later saying that my phone was ready for pickup!!! Called to confirm and it was ready for me to get it. Even got hooked up with a case and zagg screen protector. Thanks BB. NOTHING BUT GOOD SHOPPING HERE AT MY LOCAL BB
