Hey guys. Got an unlocked AT&T Note 9 here with model number N960U. Haven't received a single ota update since I got the phone. Had to manually download a firmware just to get me to Pie and One UI.

Haven't got any ota since then either. Stuck on January 1 security patch. What do I do? Don't mind flashing a firmware, but don't know which to flash.

Pls find my current software detail attached.

Go to sammobile website to the firmware site, type in sm-n960u and download the latest June . All carrier models are interchangeable
Flash in Odin 3.13.1

Is it AT&T branded or an unlocked phone that you are using on AT&T? Was the phone new or used?
If used, was it factory reset?

June 1? I'm still on April 1 with a Samsung unlocked Note 9. I figured it was Samsung being slow with updates as usual. OnePlus here I come? After I see the Note 10 launch.

I circled and put a line to middle what concerned me, this is why your not getting updates, someone changed something in the flash process that xaa is for unlocked model supposed to be Att all 3 across. 20190704_124639.jpeg

Mine was purchased from Samsung unlocked it also says XAA? Using it on T-Maybe right now. Not sure what any of it means though, lol.

Ok. I'm considering 2 firmwares there - Unknown (CHA) and Unknown (CCT). Any difference between either?

Also, can I download an N960U1 (factory unlocked) firmware for it?

No ...vzw/att/tmb/forgot sprint code
You can flash the N960U1 xaa file but need
Odin 3.13.1 prince comsey version to flash

Might be carrier sim unlocked
Look at your model build 960u and look at the other poster 960u1 is Samsung unlocked model

Yeah. It's carrier sim unlocked. Works pretty well, but I can't make native video calls (don't really care about this), and I don't get security patches or any ota update (care about this).

What's your best you advice?

Difference
N960U1 no bloatware, carrier splash screen, no video call in dialer or RCS message and last to get updates

N960U bloatware, unlocked carrier sim will dictate what gets installed , faster updates,RCS message, video chat in dialer ,better signal

I say your phone is carrier unlocked stay on that
