No USB connection after last upgrade

My Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900V) Android recently upgraded (I believe it was on July 2, 2016) to 6.0.1. After the upgrade, when I plug my phone into my computer via USB cable, the "Samsung Portable Media Player" icon appears in "My computer," but upon clicking, it shows no content inside. In short, I'm suddenly not able to connect my phone to my computer after upgrade. Any help on this would be much appreciated. Thank you NU4Newbie!!! That works beautifully! After you connect your phone, power it on and enter your pin/pattern (if used). Drag down the notification shade and tap on "USB Charging" (something like that) then tap File Transfer.

You have to repeat each time you connect to your PC.
