NOT receiving blocked call notifications

Galaxy s20 unlocked, running 12 UI 4.1

I have made sure that all calls notifications settings are on, including blocked calls. Including doing the settings>apps>system settings>calls

When a blocked number calls me, I am not getting an app badge, nor a notification on the lock screen. When I go into the phone app and I click recent, then I see the blocked call listed.

I have also confirmed this case on my Galaxy s22 AT&T running 13 UI 5.1

My old galaxy S7 would give me a notification when this happened, like a missed call.

I think there were so many complaints about that then. I know that by the time I got the S8, blocked calls no longer sent notifications.

And I'm thankful. I'd hate it if my phone constantly told me of all the spam calls I got every day. If I blocked them, why would I want to know about them?

If you want to know when these calls come in, don't block them.

Yeah lot of things have changed over different Android versions and features

A drawback, imo.

It would be nice to have the OPTION to turn notifications on or off for blocked calls. Preferences differ.
