Not Worth The Money.. Nexus 7 2013 out.. HiSense Sero 7 Pro Now Only $129.00 In..

What I appreciate the most about the mini is the screen size vs overall size ratio with its thin border and it is the lightest and thinnest 7-8 inch tablet out there.

As said earlier, the new Nexus 7 has an even better screen than the iPad mini. Its bezels are approximately the same size, and it's actually lighter than the iPad mini and only a hair thicker.

Yeah my comments were directed at the first gen n7 I wonder if there is a deal going on for n7 2.

Some stores will have a coupon for it. At first I though that $229 for a small tablet seemed a bit much, but after using the new Nexus 7 for a few weeks, I can say it holds up to everything I expected. It is a HUGE improvement over the first gen Nexus 7 that I had.

So much so that my two year old makes fuss when I take away the mini and set him up on the sero pro.
Yeah, maybe just let the two-year old deal w/ the cheaper tablet. Because, you know, he's two.

You have both and prefer the iPad to the Nexus? hmm, interesting.

I find myself using the iPad more and enjoying the experience better. I HATE the ios keyboard and the fact that you cant change it but still enjoy using the iPad more than the Nexus mainly because of the simplicity and it working along side my macbook. Like I said though the Nexus 7 is still a great tab.

It's a millimeter and a half thicker. It's also only 19 g lighter. (Which wouldn't be noticeable given that the nexus is 290 and the mini is 309.

First.. Let me say, Have you noticed how the Threads have gone from Excitement! to Issues for the Nexus 7 2013..?

Yup, and I've noticed it with every other highly anticipated device that has been released, too. Nature of the forum beast.

Now,
Editor n Chief Phil Nickinson, reported earlier that as of later today the Hisense Sero 7 Pro is dropping to an incredible $129.00..

Why keep the N7 13' when you can get this Incredible Tablet for $100.00 less than the base model 16 gig N7 13'.

My N7 13' 32 Gb is going back in the next 24 hours.. As soon as the new price decrease kicks in at my local store.

I've Overclocked the N7's Quad-Core to over 2000 Mhz.. and I'm STILL not impressed with it's performance.... I want a refund on the 2013 Nexus-7.

Many people argue that it's not worth it to upgrade from the 2012 Nexus 7 to the 2013 Nexus 7. Since the Sero 7 Pro is comparable to the 2012 N7, this is basically the same arguement ? and a very valid one. If value is your game, this is a great way to win. I favor performance and being on the latest version of Android personally, and the 2013 Nexus 7 is still a heck of a value.

Just wanted to add, from Today to the 19th of Aug, Staples is selling the 1st gen Nexus 7 139.90. With 5 percent back in rewards in ends up only being 3 dollars more than the HiSense Pro.

Damn you! I was thinking of buying the Gen2 and "loaning" my original 16GB N7 to a convalescing relative. Now I'm wondering if I should gift them a new Gen1 instead.

Thinking about buying one for my mom, but having to deal with being her "tech" support since she has never used Android is going to be the death of me.

I sympathize. There's likely to be some learning curve but in the long run I think Windows requires more tech support for family who blindly click links.

The screen is what makes the 2013 N7 stand out from the no name copies of the 1st gen. The processor is nice and the storage speed is a needed bump but not necessary now with trim.

My mother types with a pencil and thinks the internet doesn't turn on until she opens internet explorer.

My mother wanted to buy a bigger desk cause she said she needed more room for the mouse (I had to teach her to pick up mouse) , and she was also ecstatic when I realized she was using mouse with cord at the bottom "Oh, thank goodness you told me. That cord was always in my way!". This was all done over the phone long distance. Sigh...

I had the Sero 7 for about 48 hours.. Got a bad one with faulty Heat Sink material ( Ran too hot ) Enough was Enough the N7 may look good "On Paper" but for ME.. it came to stepping up another level and purchasing the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0.. Oh Man.. Putting the Brightness up to full and disabling the adaptive display sensor yields a Jaw Dropping Screen.. Just looking at the Settings Screen sold me on the spot.. I don't even use my Mini as much anymore.. and that's saying something for me.. An 8" screen is the PERFECT size. This Tablet WILL NOT being going back.

Hey ******, my iPad 4 Retina with 64 GB stutters and lags with iOS 7. The lag is apparent when entering the multitasking menu; also, the most annoying part is that multitasking is useless as it never stores apps to memory. After more than 3 apps are "open" it starts killing off the old ones. Not to mention the fact that the annoying home screen animation wastes 3 seconds everything I press the home button or unlock the device.

I don't have a new N7, I have the S7. I get that the Nexus line of tablets showcases what Android is meant to be. Faster, thinner, brighter, and better is what it must be, and believe it or not it is. BUT what the S7 is is not far off the mark, and that's ok. Each next generation has to be better. I'll give the S7 a shot to get better and get back to you all!
