Not Worth The Money.. Nexus 7 2013 out.. HiSense Sero 7 Pro Now Only $129.00 In..

the screen alone is enough to stick with the 2013 N7. 1280x800 is horrible for even a 7 inch tablet, which is why I never even bought one until now. lightyears ahead of sero in every way. I don't need an SD card....and the irony is....SD cards are actually FASTER than the sero7/n7 1st gens internal storage in transfer speeds. the new n7 has about 60MB/s read speed bandwidth, with nanosecond seeks times. my tablet is dedicated to apps only, video and music is streamed over wireless from PC. works perfectly. streamed an 8GB bluray easily. that's a bit off topic....but yeah....sero doesn't hold a candle to the new n7. foolish to think otherwise.

OK!!!
YOU ALL WIN... I WILL KEEP THE NEXUS 7 2013 !!!
Geesh... :-)
All kidding aside though.. I WAS ready to pack it up and take it back. As I stated earlier, I'm one of the lucky ones in as much as.. I have zero issues with my Tablet.. save one..
Performance.
I was Genuinely concerned that I could not get this Tablet to preform at an "Elite" Level..
You do realize what these CPU chips are in the Nexus-7 right? They are *Low-Bin* Snapdragon 600 chips.. The same ones used in the S4 & HTC One. They just did not stabilize. and are basically 2nd Tier Wafers.. So, I do not expect these CPU's to preform like the ones in the S4 & HTC One but, ( And I am almost ashamed to say it ) I was getting Antutu benchmarks under 20,000 !!! that's not Elite Level Performance Folks!
And that was pissing me off. But I have since FIXED that situation.. :-) and now my Nexus-7 2013 is responding like an ELITE TABLET should:

Just under the S4 & HTC One.. Right where a 2nd Tier Low-Bin Snapdragon 600 should be. Under 20,000 on Antutu at this price point? Heck the Hisense Pro Sero 7 scores like 18,000.. If I'm only going to have the performance of a HiSense Pro, then I might as well just pay Hisense Pro prices.. Right? But now, All is well :-) My Nexus-7 2013 runs like Nexus-7 2013 should.

So let me understand this better, your sick of hearing about specs but benchmark scores will change your mind on completely giving up on your tablet.

I'm in the love my new nexus 7 group as well.

I didn't need benchmarks to know this tablet runs fine. I just used it. And hey, it might be lower blahs compared to the S4, but even that lags from Touch Wiz. this tablet doesn't.

The Nexus 7 (2013) actually seems to be faster and better when using both devices side by side. The reason? Touchwiz. The S4 is so bloated down, it actually is worse at opening apps, and heavy performance than the N7 is.

I love my Sero 7 pro. Haven't had any issues with it.. If people like to spend more of their money for basically the same product then let them.

Basically the same product would be the first gen Nexus 7, not the new one.

Don't forget that Samsung's chipset overclocks for increased benchmarks.

I love my Nexus 7 2013. It's so much snappier and brighter and just all around a pleasure to use compared to the last generation nexus 7. The user experience is just as complimentary. Jelly bean, butter, trim, all makes it on par if not better than ios. This thing is the king of all 7 inch tablets currently.

Bingo..
You Got It.
Specs are GREAT when the device CAN BACK IT UP! Now that my Nexus-7 "Preforms" like a Nexus-7 housing a Low-Bin Snapdragon 600 SHOULD I'm 100% satisfied. Specs and benchmarks are two Totally different things.. I was up very late working on my Nexus-7 and maybe just maybe I was reflecting mentally back to the Nexus-10 too much in my comments.. But IMO, All the B.S. about it's specs didn't mean JACK SHEET when it came to real world performance.. It stuttered staggered & lagged period..
So fast forward to the summer of 2013 and here we go again.. "Nexus-7 This.. Nexus-7 That" ok.. show me.. it runs pretty decent out of the box to have a 323 ppi screen but it still did not wow me.. AT ALL.. for a 2 Gig Quad-Core State of the Art device.. ( My gut feeling was correct..) and Antutu *Which really tells it like it is* backed that point up... over & over & over again.. Like I said, why pay these prices for Sub - 20,000 Antutu scores & average experience type speed... a $129.00 tablet (only the Sero 7 Pro) can give me that..
But I no longer have to worry about that.
A 23,000+ Overall Score shows me 100% without a doubt ( along with not having any issues with the Tablet ) That I now have a Nexus-7 worthy of the price it commands.
A Sub 20,000 Overall Score ( Antutu is one of the most respected Benches out there ) was showing me I got a WEAK possibly Defective Nexus-7.
***It's All Good for me now***...
And,
If you love yours and Benchmarks don't leave you wondering why yours is not measuring up, then you too are 100% satisfied.. :-) Enjoy your beloved Nexus-7 2013!

Yeah, as of today anyways, the '13 Nexus 7 is easily the best tablet on the market. That may change with the 2013 iPad and Nexus 10, but there's nothing even close today. Best screen, fastest software, well balanced and thought out designs and right out amazing battery life, despite the smaller battery than the 2012 iteration.

I Agree.. 100%
I thought I had one that was "Underachieving" but now, it justifies the price point in my eyes. Not because Websites "Tell Me" it's the best thing since slice bread (my seat of the pants & gut feeling told me otherwise..) But, because I now know through my own testing and tangible evidence that indeed "Beast Mode" is in FULL EFFECT on this particular Tablet by scoring 23,000+ in Antutu. and with my personal tweaking, everything now responds in the blink of an eye.. And That's Pretty Cool :-)
I also own the iPad Mini and it's still the most "Refined" Experience next to the IPad 4 you can have in a Tablet.. By Apple controlling the Software and the Hardware, nothing comes close to it's ability to deliver a Silky A$$ Experience.. But at least now my N7 has the Raw Grunt of a V-12.. while the IPad Mini is still the Lexus of the house. It has Refinement the N7 simply cannot match.

Freedom comes with some sloppiness sometimes. :)

Your comment reminded me of the Late Jim Kelly & Hahn from the Movie "Enter the Dragon"
When Hahn looked at Jim Kelly right after Bolo killed the Guards that were on duty the night prior that allowed Bruce Lee to slip around and do his thing.. Bolo picked one dude up and just crushed him in his arms like a baby and Hahn ask Jim Kelly "Does this bother you?"
And Kelly replied: " Only In How Sloppy Your Man Works"
The Nexus-7 2013 is kinda like Bolo..... It may be a little "Sloppy" but with some assistance, it can get the job done... :-)
But...... It ain't no Bruce Lee.
Like the Late Great Bruce Lee was.. The Mini is simply refined in how it handles it's business :-)

Don't forget that Samsung's chipset overclocks for increased benchmarks.

That was for the Octocore overseas version and that was pointed out by Anandtech. It was getting in the high 27ks, low 28ks. The regular S4 has no optimization.

I wouldn't exactly put it above my ipad 4. Still a great tab

Ehh. The big iPad is still a better product overall. The Nexus 7 is good, but the iPad beats it on design/materials, and processor-wise. (The A6X is a BEAST)

However, the nexus is certainly the best small screen tablet, and best android tablet.
