Note 3 plus a Samsung tablet. What Pros's?

I should say I'm in the UK. Just looked at my 2 price reference sites. Amazon do the 10.1 2014 @ 499 so has temporarily gone up, while a well regarded department store chain (JL) do it @ 449, and the 12.2 @ 649; whereas I just saw Amazon have dropped the 12.2 by 100 to ?549 in black.
Tab Pro 8.4 has come down too to 314 on Amazon. I think the Amazon 10.1 price should drop below 400 soon. Thx.

*Added: the JL store did the 10.1 2014 @ only ?369 before Christmas, with the 2013 version only ?20 less.

Great. Now I have to find or wait for another ?300+ for the 12.2. :)
I don't work from an office set up. What kind of document software do you like. Have you switched to the free Microsoft Office Mobile. I don't like Polaris on small screens, and I tried one or two others. Word editing or pdf's are silly on even a Note 3 size, it needs larger or you're scrolling all the time.
Thanks.

I use Polaris and Hancom. Any small screen issue is rendered obsolete on the Note Pro, it's as comfortable as working on a desk top.

I should not have started this thread until I had better knowledge of the newer tablets. I thought I had read on the Pro's but I hadn't really 'til now.

It still does get a little confusing though to keep tabs (geddit) on the varying features between the Note 10.1 2014 out for maybe 5 months now, but presumably updated to 4.4, and the Tab Pro 8.4, 10.1 and 12.2, and Note Pro 12.2.
So the larger Note Pro 12.2 and Tab Pro 10.1 have a windows laptop type keyboard (nice) and S-Action mouse facility (?) and the Note Pro at least has new H (Hancom) office (MS compatible) software, remote desktop control, 4 multi windows, PopUp (Pen) window, E-Meeting etc.
The on paper disappointment with the 12.2 is the 254 ppi resolution - 307 ppi for the 10.1 and a very good 359 for the 8.4.

I need to check again on specs of the Note 10.1 2014 also, it will have the same 307 ppi I think, and though it won't have the latest Touchwiz, is looking good.
Either Note 10.1 2014 or Pro 12.2 I learned here work well with my Note 3 phone via S-Notes, and Evernote with S-Pen.

I need to lie down now - my head hurts.

I may buy a bicycle.:(

I just read on that and posted below you, thanks. And you use Polaris easily on the larger screen. No up close fuzziness with the diluted number of pixels on the 12.2. It still has a good pixels per inch number, but a fair behind the Note 3 and 10.1" tablets.
I found since yesterday it's available for ?100 less than before at ?549 black, ?559 white. Thanks.

ADDED: And you started recent threads with "from a non-techie". That was a fib - LOL
You were doing all that on the Pro 12.2 all this time!
I'm the only non-techie left on this forum. Ha ha. :)

How is a 254 ppi bad on a 12.2 inch screen? 2 inches bigger basically then the iPad which has around a 260 ppi and the note 10.1 2014 edition and tab pro 10.1 have a 299 ppi not 307 and still highest resolution and ppi then iPad

What do you want 400 ppi on a tablet? Smh

I don't think I said it was bad. It was slightly disappointing to work it out that it has that ppi on paper. Android Central's own review said there was slight fuzziness in the larger Pro tablet. My GS2 which I still have with a 4.3" screen has around 230 ppi and I find it hard to view up close. The S4 had a massive and unnecessary 400+ ppi and the iPhone retina display around 360 was it and the Note 3 similar, someone will have the figure.
I was musing if it would make any real world difference. What's the point of having a 12.2 " screen if you have to view it further away from you than an 8.4 screen so it seems sharper. It's like sitting 20 feet away from a 60" tv and 6 feet from a 32". I was just asking an owner if any review-noted fuzziness was noticeable in practice. Is all.

If you want to start another tit for tat nonsense digging and trolling at a poster, please use another thread. Thanks.

Honestly I find the 12.2 screen to be crystal clear. It's very sharp... And my vision sucks, lol. but I have no problem with the screen of the Note Pro.

If you know the price in the $500 range for the note version i think it is worth it but at $700 no way I would rather buy an ipad at that price TBH or a Surface pro 2

Oh I've had two iPad before and they started out quite nicely until Apple started messing up and every update made the device worse. IOS7 was the last straw so I am done with Apple. The surface pro... well first I try to stay away from physical keyboards as much as I can and also it's a lot heavier than the note pro.
It really all boils down to your specific needs and preferences. The note pro was the best choice for me. It might not be for someone else.

The battery life of the note 10.1 2014 Edition is horrible compared to the iPad air and I believe Android in general is at fault... I like this tablet but last night got it to 20% with 3 hours and 50 minutes of screen time which is horrible

after IOS7 my battery life dwindled to nothing. With the note pro I get a full day of use for work and play.

For the size, the 12.2 is quite light and not as tough to hold as you would think.

Thank you, I am tempted. My use case, I think would be mostly for note taking in a meeting environment. I noticed the bezel labels and such appear to want you to hold it landscape. I would have it in some kind of folder and take notes in portrait orientation. Any issues there?

I don't own it and got the note 10.1 2014.... The battery life on the iPad air trumps the note 10.1 2014 edition by a lot......

4 hours of screen time is terrible for a tablet

I briefly had the note 10,1 back in 2012... but it was too buggy, the S-Pen left a lot to be desired and I did have some battery life issues so I returned it and went back to Apple. For a while I was happy with Apple but man... IOS7 and Mavericks sure turned that around, lol. Add to that the continuously degenerating customer service I was getting from Apple and that's why eventually, enough was enough and I turned my back for good on Apple.
I do have an Itouch 5th generation, though. I'm keeping it for music, especially when I teach yoga, because most studios in my areas have sound systems that are outfitted for Apple products, but otherwise I am completely done with Apple.
And I must say, once I decided to dig my heels in and figure out Android, I was like a kid in a candy store, lol.
I can't imagine going back, now.

How's the twelve inch to use in a business setting? Not to big? Heavy?

Sorry for the late reply, I completely missed this.
No, it's not too big or too heavy, in fact I love it a lot. I prop it up on my desk with the cover and I can handle anything I need to do that's business related. I carry it in my backpack and it's comfortable.
