Note 4 Lollipop Lockscreen

When running Spotify and Slacker, the album art and control buttons display on the lock page. Works great under Lollipop on my Note 4.

I had to put another music app on my phone, because everytime I hit play on Spotify on Lollipop the song doesn't play. It starts and immediately shuts down. It worked fine on Kit Kat. Maybe I should try installing again, but I love spotify and I'm not a paying member, just love the music layout better than Tunein Radio and Iheartradio, which are my replacements. I like how Spotify groups the radio stations and music Genres. Are you a paying member on Spotify? Works great on my Mac, just not on the Note 4 since the update to Lollipop.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just reinstalled the app, they must have fixed it. It's working now. Glad to have it back, as the alternatives I didn't like. I'll keep IHeartradio, but hate the Tunein Radio app. i use to like Slacker Radio on my PC when I had it, but not sure if it's good anymore. Liked their layout, but never tried the app on the phone. Thanks for posting. :)

Yup, they are on the lock screen just like kit kat. I use Google music and no issues.

You clearly are not using lollipop then because those large lockscreen music player buttons were removed and are no longer there

When I use PowerAmp sometimes the lock screen freezes for a second. I think it the stock lock screen coming up for a few seconds before the PowerAmp lock screen. Does yours do this too? If not what settings do you have checked in your lock screen?

I have Lollipop with lockscreen notifications turned on. Google Play Music does not show any controls on the lockscreen whatsoever when music is playing. Any suggestions?

UPDATE: Nevermind... I am an *****... I had notifications turned off in the applications menu for PlayMusic. Once I re-checked notifications, it showed the play/pause menu on the lockscreen and the pulldown menu. Duh.

I wonder if google will ever add the lock screen music controls back in (not the tiny notification ones}

I hope so. This is pretty much the only thing preventing me from upgrading.

Does anybody know if there is a way to bring them back if the phone is rooted?

Note 4 ever!

Here it is:
1. Battery life is good (comparable to Kitkat)
2. Random Wifi disconnects happen less frequent with Lollipop.
3. Interface is virtually identical to Kitkat
4. You'll have a new kind of notification system, where e.g. messages will show at the top of the screen, hovering over whatever it is you're doing (particularly annoying if you're playing a game and need to tap something on the upper-part of the screen, as tapping on the message will open the message-system)
5. The email-app (not to be confused with the gmail app , which is something else) has a bug: when you type a reply, want to correct a typo and tap back to where you were, you'll automatically go all the way down to the very end of the email. It's really hard to get back to where you left off.
6. On the lock-screen you'll lose the controls of Google Play Music. You'll still see the cover-art on the lock screen if something is playing (or pausing).
7. On the lock-screen, you won't see the type of notifications you had. That part is covered by your carrier-name. Apparently you need a (paid) app or rooted phone to get rid of it.

Bottom line: you'll be having Google's latest but the upgrade is really a downgrade in my eyes. I've gone back to Kitkat and will upgrade once the bugs are fixed (hopefully in the 5.1 update).

I agree, I just posted this in another thread, my worst issues with the update

Lollipop did these nice things for me....

Nova Launcher crashes all the time
I can't use widget locker and have NILS individual notifications on my lockscreen anymore, can't find a good alternative so stuck with stock lockscreen and having to tap to expand everytime instead of just looking at the phone and seeing while I'm driving
Some of my favorite widgets now crash
Even had touchwiz launcher crashed a few times, requiring a battery pull-restart.
