Note 4 or G4?

On specs yes
All the G4 users were amazed by the low light capabilities of the G4

I'm not saying the G4 isn't better, I honestly don't know, but you can't base a camera off those two specs. There's a lot more to it than that. Go see actual pics if you care about the two, or any phone. They both have top tier camera's. The Note 4 was arguably the best when it came out and I think the GS6 uses the same slightly upgraded camera from it, but I could be wrong.

Tried a Note 4 today in a Samsung showroom, it was still 4.4.4 but it was really laggy!
I don't think I can stand this lag coming from M9 lagless UI. The G4 marked a big point today.
There was an S6 Edge close to it with a crazy damn burnin, screaming ''don't ever buy an amoled phone''

that burn in though is coming from hours upon hours of the same screen being left on

Turn off S-voice and the Note won't lag anymore. My Note 4 runs great, you'd probably laugh if someone said the Note 4 was laggy after using mine.

What about battery life? Note 4's average 4.5-5.5hrs screen on time, from what I've read.

I have mixed feelings about AMOLEDS. My last AMOLED did get burn in (Lumia 1020) after about 1 year of normal use. But they are gorgeous screens. That phone is a few years old, however, maybe tech improved. Also, Samsung makes great displays... I'm not concerned, as I will only have this device for 1 year. Screen burn in from normal use isn't nearly as bad as a demo device.

I am planning to get a Note 4 but I am very concerned about all these comments about burn in on Amoled screens. This is an issue that I remember happening years ago with my plasma TV but I'm assuming that technology on plasma's has now improved sufficiently to eradicate this problem. Can't believe this issue is now occurring on phones!

Is this really a significant issue? I was planning on watching movies etc on the Note 4 so the screen will be on for long periods of time.

I would say no just bc your watching a movie with a lot of movement, the only screen in burn I've seen is on the in store display models after a long period of high brightness and always being on

Burn in is rare, but it happens. I don't think most would have even noticed it on my Lumia 1020.

Burnins was all over the screen of the S6!
As I use Car app with static icons for sometimes more than 1 hour of road,it could get burnins. I heard people got some with only 30mins

This is really concerning and is making me re-consider getting the Note 4 and consider a phone which doesn't have this type of screen.

Burn in is permanent. Image retention is temporary. Big difference. You're not going to get permanent burn in from 30 minutes.

games and CPU-intensive apps run a bit faster on the Note 4. But Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor on the G4 is newer, it’s a new 6-core processor that Qualcomm has been playing with while the Snapdragon 810 on the Note 4 is a proven beastly CPU.

But overall performance on both of these devices are very satisfying, faster than anything most phones except s6.

Deciding between these two devices is difficult. I believe the Note series offers something that no other smartphone offers in the s-pen. And I believe that's the main deciding factor.

Note 5 is an epic fail for me: glass back and no SD card!
Samsung really hates me

For me the camera isn't very important because i dont take pics a lot. Obviously g4 has the better one. The s pen is the reason i bought samsung galaxy note 4. The g4 doesnt have a stylus so i didnt have a choice other than note 4 and i dont regret. I love the device.

G4 by its specification is good but lg Customer care service is very bad they don't even reply to any of your mail where has Samsung is better than that
So note 4 would be better

What I don't understand is that it seems both Apple and Samsung either can't or won't figure out a way to design a metal back which is also removable allowing the user to replace the battery and have an sd card. Surely this is possible??

Look how much money Apple makes jumping up to a bigger storage model. Why in the world would they introduce SD cards when people are willing to pay those prices? They won't.
