Note 4 - Post your battery life screens and info

Re: Note 4 Post your battery life screens and info

For the most part, Facebook, streaming video on YouTube and Crunchyroll, some Clash of Clans, listening to podcasts using Pocket Casts, email using the default email client, listening to music using with Play Music, reading news with Play Newsstand and the New York Times app.

You shouldn't need the download booster for any of that. Try keeping it turned off and keep your screen brightness below 60% if you're not already and see how that goes. You may also want to turn off NFC except for the times you need, you can switch it on and off quickly with the quick toggle in your notification tray.

You have 4.5 hours of screen on time in that 7.5 hours and that 4.5 hours is comprised of video streaming and game playing. That's actually pretty damned good dude. You have to take the screen time into account when talking about battery life.

Now, if you died in 7.5 hours and had 30 minutes of screen time it would be different. Considering your screen time and usage I see nothing wrong.

I still feel there's something wrong with having to accept that. Oh well, I've already resigned to the fact that I need a battery case for this phone. I had a battery case for the iPhone 4S and 5S, this android phone won't be any different. I guess I should always assume that when tech reviewers are complimenting battery life, claiming that they used the phone intensively, that I am a heavier user of smartphones. I just find this to be very disappointing.

You sit around and watch videos/play games for nearly 5 hrs everyday on a phone? Yeah that would most definitely be heavier than heavy usage for a phone.

Of the 4.5 hours of screen on time, only about half of that was streaming video. The rest was browsing the phone. I barely do any gaming and if I did, it was only for 5 minutes.

Still almost 5 hours of screen on time with tons of data usage isn't anything bad. You can't compare a stock to an extended battery. If you're using it that extensively then I would say yes to you needing the extended to be mobile the whole time. Either that or a spare one.

Re: Post your battery life screens and info

Why am I getting bad battery with stand by. I am on AT&T as well… Do they really need the update or what?!

The phone was 100% before I went to bed with the wifi on though.

I did use the camera a bit in the morning and do other simple things with the phone like to check a couple things. Also Google Play did some updates to apps in the phone, but nothing too crazy.

I was thinking, do you think S Health was using the battery during this time? Is there any way to have it not drain the battery.

Also I had Power save battery turned on as well.

When everyone posts an image or stats of battery life make sure you include screen time on!!! :-)

Did you try restarting the phone? Mine looses 5% battery overnight (8hrs).

Re: Post your battery life screens and info

Nope, I have tried restarting. Is the 5% with wifi on? Will that help?

Here is the screen on time.

Re: Post your battery life screens and info

When I got the phone 2 days ago drain was bad. I had same issue with S5 until I changed runtime system to ART in dev. options.
Try that maybe it will help.

Re: Note 4 Post your battery life screens and info

Was going to take it all the way to 5%, but figured I'd just grab it now. I've gotten into my normal usage patterns now and I'm honestly pleased. Usage info:

Gmail sync/push
Facebook 1 hour sync
Twitter 1 hour sync
Evernote daily sync
Dropbox auto upload on (WiFi only)
Google Now on w/ all bells and whistles
Location always on, high accuracy
All motion gestures disabled
All bloat that can be disabled without root is disabled
Google Now Launcher
Auto brightness

Re: Note 4 Post your battery life screens and info

My results were pretty decent for the first weekend after getting the phone on Friday. Charged to full Friday night i believe and didn't plug it in until late Sunday. Moderate use; social media, downloading apps, tweaking some stuff etc. Today begins the real test but so far i am happy with the performance.
