Note 5 blue LED light will not turn off when i turn my phone off

It is time to retire my note 5 after getting a note 9. I will miss the old girl, but when my note 5 turns off ot has a blueish purple light that comes on and stays on. I have no idea how to turn that off. Everywhere I look it just says turn off led notifications and refers to "the blue light of death". I also dropped my phone and wedged my lock button inside the body of the phone. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.
