Note 5 Moving music from pc (windows)

It keeps saying the storage device quit working working or not hooked up what the hell this is a replacement I got today because my other one wouldn't charge and acting all goofing how can I get my music on my phone help!

When you connect via USB, are you swiping down the notification panel and making sure it's set to MTP or File Transfer?
