Re: iPhone 6s plus or note 5

with a iphone you get the update the same day has ever one else but with android you have too wait moths and moths for updates too come too your phone and if its like AT&T then you be waiting longer for android updates but with when apple dos the update you get them at the same time has ever one else that one thing i like about IOS

Re: iPhone 6s plus or note 5

Updates are nice on ios, I just switched from an iPhone 6 plus to the note 5 and I'm very happy. It all comes down to what os you like. I like both, but for my phone I do like the Note. I've had other iPhone and androids in the past but always come back to the Note. I have an iPad, imac, and Apple TV also, so I do like both os's but the note is always something I come back to.

Re: iPhone 6s plus or note 5

Most carriers offer a 14 day trial period. I'd suggest using the iPhone for 7 days, then try the Note 5. More than likely you'll remain with the Note 5...

Re: iPhone 6s plus or note 5

I was thinking of trying the Note 5 for a few days and then taking it back to get the new iPhone. But I'm not sure. The one thing I can say about the Note series is that using the s-pen is really cool. But it is not more convenient or as fast as typing things out. That was one of the reasons that I went back to my iOS devices. But it is definitely cool too use and I would like to give the Note series a try again.

Should I get the iPhone 6s Plus or Note 5?

I am in the same boat. Last android was droid x years ago and I have had iOS for years now. iPhone 6 is the current phone but just ordered the 6 s plus going to try it for 14 day trial but might give the note a try. My mom has the note 4 and loves it. I love the idea of the s pen and the it feels great in the hand. Every time I go to best buy I end up playing around with the note for a long time. My fear is the phone slowing down over time like my x did. Thoughts

You would think that those problems have been solved. But it seemed like the S6 had some of those same problems. Although, I never had any issues with my Note 4. Im just not sure if it will be worth the try. I am very happy with my iPhone 6/iPad Air 2 combo. I would only try it out because I'm curious about it.

Re: iPhone 6s plus or note 5

I had a Motorola Droid turbo. Was going back to iPhone until I saw the note 5. Got it and it's the best phone I've ever used. Screen is bigger than iPhone 6+ but not much bigger than the 6 and smaller than the + by a lot.

Camera better. Screen better

And the SPen

Re: iPhone 6s plus or note 5

I am stuck using a iPhone 6 for work. I really don't like not being able to do anything with it like I can with my note 5.

Battery life is over double that of the iPhone, the camera blows the iPhone out of the water and of course the spen.

AT&T isn't fast on pushing out updates but what is on my Note 5 right now is running extremely smooth and lag free so I can wait until M is out for a while and make sure all is well with it before upgrading.

Once you get it, look through the battery life thread here and buy the Package Disabler Pro from the store. Doing a few simple steps you'll be as happy as the majority of people using it.

Now if you are of the mind that you shouldn't have to change anything that comes on the phone like some who come from the Orchard please be advised that isn't conducive to having the best experience with your new device.

Good luck with your new phone

Re: iPhone 6s plus or note 5

I went from an iPhone and iTunes before and moving my music over was a nightmare as I was able to move my music over but lost all of my playlists. Thanks for any help.

This is the main reason why I switched from iTunes and probably will never go back... I hate iTunes and Apple forces you to use iTunes for everything.... If this is the case with you then get the Note 5

Yeah, I'm currently stuck on this as well. I really want that 2K screen but I mean on my 6 Plus my battery is amazing I get typically 8 hours onscreen time, I just don't know if the Note 5 can do that.

Re: iPhone 6s plus or note 5

I am using the iPhone 6 Plus and the Note 5 on AT&T side by side. Between them I find the Note 5 to be a far better device and has become my preferred use smartphone. I have ordered the iPhone 6S Plus and will update in the future once I have compared the two.

For now, the Note 5 is the way to go IMHO.

If you are stuck, I would consider waiting for the reviews. Maybe just make a checklist of all the features each has and choose which one fits you better. Some people care about battery life more than the screen, ect. Both are great devices and fit different people.

Re: iPhone 6s plus or note 5

I switched from a 6 plus and overall I really like the Note 5, however battery life isn't nearly as good as the 6 plus. Like others, I have used iSyncr with every Android device I have had and it does a great job of moving music and play lists back and forth.

I wish people would consider the idea that an iPhone gets an update once a year. The note 5, for example, will most likely get an update within its first year of life, and then another update within the second year of life. People see Google released the newest Android and go nuts and want their update right away, and then it takes months, and they freak out. But when you consider that iOS is on a yearly update, the yearly or quicker updates that reach Android phones doesn't seems so bad. It's all about perspective.

BRILLIANT POINT! I'd not thought of that...

Re: iPhone 6s plus or note 5

It seems like you've received enough motivation that you need but I'll chime in just in case. I was contemplating leaving android because Samsung decided to take away the removable battery and the SD card from the note line. I figured that the iPhones are good at just working and if I couldn't have the reasons I wanted on my note might as well switch and move on from the Android inconsistencies. Well I got my hands on the note 5 and I never let go. It has a smaller battery but lasts longer than the 4, a better screen than the iPhone, a better camera and is just as smooth as an apple phone which I can honestly say that I'm surprised. The build quality is up there with Apple as well. Basicly every reason why I would have switched to an iPhone and most of the reasons why I use a note/android phone were all built into the note 5. I couldn't be happier.

IOS doesn't measure screen time. Your usage of 8 hrs is with screen off also. So if you are listening to music etc and the screen if off your usage in the Settings tab is increasing. It's not actual screen time like Android.

It may have more to do with the fact that when Android releases a new OS version that it reaches some phones, some carriers first. So if you are on Verizon and have the Note 5 and a friend is on Sprint with the same smartphone and they receive an update that brings new features, yet you have to wait two months for your device to receive it, I can see how that will frustrate some users. When you have an iPhone, regardless of carrier or device, you are going to get the update when it is available. But I will say this in favor of Android and it may make others feel better about the update schedule, they update native apps independent of the operating system. So native apps are constantly improving for the most part on a regular basis. Therefore the need to be able to update the operating system sooner or more consistently isn't as paramount. You are getting new features as those apps are being updated.

Re: iPhone 6s plus or note 5

Both phones are great what it really comes down to is the software. If many of your friends and family have iPhones and you use imessage and facetime alot you might want to stick with iPhone. Yes there are alternatives on Android but its just not the same. If you're into customizing your device, changing themes, icons, tweaking etc then you should go with the Note 5 because those things you cant do on iPhone unless you jailbreak it. A couple other things to consider you will probably have to tweak, adjust and disable things to get the maximum performance out of the Note as many here have done. Some people dont mind doing that, some say you shouldn't have to make so many adjustments on a high end flagship device. It all depends on how you want to use your phone. iPhones just work smoothly out the box. Also many android devices run smoothly at first but slow down over time. My 9 month old iPhone 6 is just as smooth as when I got it but my S6 was laggy after only 3 months. iOS is very well optimized and more battery efficient. Most people will tell you that the 6+ battery last much longer than the Note and I expect the new 6s plus to be the same.
