Add me to the list of people who need the support group.

I've been flip flopping between Android and iOS for years. I've had 3 iPhone 6 Pluses and a 6s Plus over the past year. I've also had a number of Android phones. It always seems like I end up back on Android. But I leave because I get fed up with support, having to deal with carrier updates, or that I feel like I need to change everything about the phone. Then I get on iOS and feel so locked down because I can't change anything. It looks like my mom's iPhone. And I hate that I'm forced to use Safari. So then I go back to Android.

Right now I'm on the Note 5, which is an incredible phone. But I'm still looking to switch. I have a Nexus 6P on order. I'll probably be moving to that once it comes in and I'll be selling my Note 5. I've already decided that if the 6P doesn't work for me, it's back to iOS.

I dunno... I have a problem.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

My husband thinks I'm a nut case because I am constantly switching from my Galaxy Note 3 back to my iPhone 6 Plus and have bought and sold many others in between, and before. Ugh. As soon as I think I'm content I start missing the other one. I have an ipad Mini 3 too. I know for my needs what makes the most sense to do and that's android. I know in my heart of hearts that I have more need for the Note 3, but for whatever reason I cannot turn my back on this gorgeous iPhone. Having and using both doesn't satisfy it. I want to be able to choose only one!!!!! I want to be in love with just one phone!!!! I honestly don't know what to do.

Same here. Use an iPhone 6s along with my Note 5. I like tech, new apps and unfortunately new apps show up in iOS than in Android first. I also like to design apps and thus see how others are and having both platforms helps a lot.

I do use cloud services and it helps a lot in switching phones.

This time I bought the iPhone from Apple iPhone Upgrade so it is unlocked as well while Note 5 is tied to ATT Next 18 months. I just switch sims back and forth when needed.

And I love Android customization sooo much and drool over the Note 5 screen & camera! :)

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

I too have been on the fence between Note 5 and IOS... the 6S... the 720 screen... a total bring down from the Note 5 screen. The 6S+... the beast is huge... much larger feeling than Note 5 with smaller usable screen on 6S+.

Been an Android user since day one and like the simplicity of IOS and Macbook. Apple store nearby and if I need fast battery switch or warranty, Apple is right there.

New Note 5... don't know how long battery will last. Have VZ extended warranty. Will buy from VZ. That's why won't buy off of Ebay. $900.00 for 64K Note 5... ouch! Depreciation is worse on Samsung than Apple. So for my money, be prepared to keep phone for two to three years so don't get reamed on depreciation.... or just take the couple hundred dollar hit... no biggie.

I'm function over form guy. Apple is easy as it just works...but 6S 720 screen... deal breaker for me though 6S right size. IOS... kind of boring on phone. Apple saves money and cuts corners on hardware features and customer. . Takes what Apple gives. Apple Should have upgraded 6S to at least 1080.

Note 5 looks to be good choice!

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

If you really want to simplify things just get the large iPhone and jailbreak it. That way you only have one device but it's a little more like Android as its tweakable.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

I really enjoyed the Note 5 for the month I had it. Been back and forth just too many times over the last few years. I finally thought that was it when I got the Note 5. Finally a real premium device Samsung brought to the table. I hardly missed iMessage after a few days coming from the iPhone 6. My little 7 year old has an iPad mini and we always FaceTime and message each other when I'm out of town. My wife has an iPhone 6 Plus. The pic messaging was just brutal. Videos were garbage looking etc. It was starting to play a key role in my decision. Battery life was not bad at all but I must say the battery life on the 6S Plus is crazy.

I now have a HomeKit enabled thermostat. I have cloud storage shared with all devices. Pay it each month. Didn't want to spend more for Drive and have 2 accounts being paid for. My wife likes Apple Music and I didn't want to buy Google Music as well. A lot of little factors made me go and get the 6S Plus.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the Note 5. Hands down the best Android experience I've had. There were so many features I loved. Also in Canada we can only get a 32GB model. Even though I probably won't use it all the limited storage was in the back of my mind.

Can't go wrong with the Note 5. I miss it sometimes but I'm very happy to be back on iOS again. All depends on what you need your phone for.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

I'm getting irritated with myself because I keep switching back and forth between the two platforms. I just want to make a decision already and stick with it. Had the iPhone 6S on launch weekend. Nothing wrong with it. Really enjoyed it actually. And it complemented my iPad Air 2 perfectly. But yesterday was day 13 of my 14 day return window and I panicked. Went out and exchanged it for the Note 5. Bought a case, screen protector, and wireless charger. So, I'm all in. Haven't touched my beloved iPad since. Now here is the problem. When I use the note, I don't want to use any complementary devices. After a while, I miss my iPad and I want to switch back, but I need the iPhone to go with it. I have been doing this for years. And it's making me feel quite ridiculous. But I can't choose. And I don't know why.

I suggest you focus on your needs and not on the device. Make a list on what you need from a device (i.e. Reminder, calendar, camera, notes, etc.) or if you'll use it for games then look for processor and memory as well. Then focus on the ecosystem that would provide the best assurance for backup settings and apps and also security such as encryption. After you have a list of your needs, visualize yourself on a daily routine, how the ecosystem will respond to your needs and demands. I assume you are familiar with iOS and Android ecosystems based on your post. Hope this helps.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

The note 5 gets me through a complete day on one battery just fine. But the iPhone had better battery life.

Ok guys (or gals). I have a question.

If you had to choose a brand new iPhone 6S 16GB or an iPhone 6 64GB, which would you choose?

Let's pretend you only had these 2 choices, and they each cost the same amount of money. This is the choice I will be making today. Please help.

Without a doubt 64gb. Dont even think of 16gb - it is the last thing you want only to realize there is no more space left in like a month or two.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

So I'm on my way to the Apple Store. I have reserved a 6S plus just in case I wanna get it but I'm still not sure if I want it or the note 5. I have my 6S that I'm going to return and either I'll take the money and buy a note or I'll add the extra $100 and get a 6S plus. I will find out what I really wanna do right before I enter the Apple Store lmao.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

OK. Thanks. I'm just concerned I may miss not having the 3D Touch. :/

I would wait to get a $100 and get the 64GB 6S. That's just me though.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

No need to be aggravated. Just enjoy the best of both worlds. Keep the Note for phone/productivity/music, etc. and the iPad for reading, video, games, browsing, etc. That's what I'd do, anyway, and I'm not even a big iOS fan, but I can see uses for it. With my Galaxy S6, or if I had a Note or Edge Plus, I wouldn't see much need for an iPhone.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

Well I have decided on the Note 5 even though I was leaning towards the 6S plus. Why? Cost. The 6S plus is $900, I found a note 5 seller on eBay for $570 brand new. I also found a $300 iPad Air 2. I get to use both OS and get way more out of the same money. It's an absolute no brainier.
