On my Samsung Note 8 I have turned on the Always On function now on the screen I see current Month (Sep), current time just below that is a month display with the current date circled, below that I see the amount of battery and below that are four icons

Is it possible to make everything bigger? With my failing eyesight it is a bit difficult to see.

Also what do the four icons mean?

In Nougat you can rearrange the stuff on the display, not sure on Oreo. If you take a pic of those icons perhaps it might help us identify them. Our other note users may know if is the default stuff... I can relate to the failing eyesight comment...

The 4 icons would probably refer to your notifications. Unlock your phone, then on the upper left corner there should be icons that look like the ones on the AOD. Swipe down from top of the screen to expand the notification shade.

I am trying to get an calender app for the AOD. Note 7 and S7 had it. It would show all my calender entries for the day. Any suggestions
Thanks

I have a digital clock at top, current date below clock, and battery percentage below date on my AOD. Although the sample shows the 4 tiny icons below the batt percent, the 4 icons don't appear on my AOD. Do I need to modify a setting to allow the icons to be on the AOD?

No. Those icons represent unread notifications. For example you left your phone in your room and went to the toilet (unreal I know lol), and you received a message. When you get back, the AOD will have an unread message icon.

Is anyone elses AOD RIDICULOUSLY DIM? I bought a AOD theme I loved but the screen display is SO dim, I cannot even appreciate the display. Anyone else having this issue?

I find the AOD brightness/dimness changes. It sometimes seems very dim and sometimes much brighter. I admit I haven't bothered to figure out what conditions trigger the change. Will try and pay attention to that.

Do you have a screen protector over the ambient light sensor?

This doesn't work for me :( I believe I must need to modify a setting but haven't located it . . .

If one has set up two email addresses on the samsung email app, say one personal yahoo mail and the other work mail address, I notice the AOD screen get two separate email notification icons if there is new unread mail in each account. But the icons are identical so if got 3 new email in personal and 1 in work, how can I tell by just looking at the icons; anyway to change setting so they look different?

I want the notifications icons on my AOD! Are there certain permissions that must be allowed?

Settings>Display>Always On Display>Layouts>Show Notifications?

Thanks, chanchan05---I remember the Note7 had the option of Show Notifications on the AOD and I chose to have them. But my Note8 has no option for Show Notifications. That's why I think I must have some permission turned off that is necessary for the icons on the aod. I hope someone can advise me to success on this frustrating item!

setting - display - at the bottom always on display - content to show - Clock or information . No homebutton then.
I never get notification like others have said - no Layout under the Alway on display section to choose?
