Note 8 to iPhone X?

I have back and fourth alot between the two after seeing the x I just feel that hyst from videos to me it just looks cheaply made for seem like the silver model idk y but in videos the silver glass looks better on the 8 over the x how idk but at this moment how I use to be im happy with my note and really not thinking about getting the x maybe down the line idk but I think I would get the 8 over the x I think the hole gesture thing is not my cup tea yet I still need me a home button

Yes, I agree: the notch and lack of home button were two roadblocks for me.

I don't think Apple's advertising will be directed at people with blue mohawks. However I've no doubt they'll sell out - which is great because that will put Samsung profits UP. As for "revolutionary".....well I guess in the closed Apple ecosystem it is!

True. Top of the line Android market will be divided between Samsung, LG, Pixels, Huawei... Top of the line iOS Market has one product. Ok two, but the 8 will probably sell less than the X anyway.

Huh samsumg will sell more then any other OEM including apple ...not sure your point . The iPhone 8 is just meh ,even apple sheep realize is a warmed over 7 . The iPhone x had so small of actual phones it was bound to sell out. The shortage is a old apple an Google trick to generate hype

Same for me. The S8/Note 8 softkeys plus pressure sensitive home button combi is really the best in my opinion.

Pressure sensitive home button actually started on iPhone 7 first, not sure why they removed it completely in X. Could have give users a choice between that and gesture.

Samsung's sales cover the entire range from lowest Galaxy J to the Note. Model for model, there are more iPhones than Galaxy S.

For example in 2017, the S7 and S7 Edge sold a total 55 million units as of May (1 year after release). However, for the iPhone 7 and 7+, as of January, 3 mos after release, it already broke past 78 million units number of sold units.

There are more people using Androids, but that doesn't mean any Android company is outselling Apple by itself. And we're only talking about flagships here. We don't count Samsung's lower end numbers. And this is accounting that there was no Note last year, so the Note buyers either went with an S7 variant or another brand.

We'll have to wait for this year's numbers, but historically, iPhones sell more than any Android flagship model individually, even if Android as a whole sells more.

Single biggest issue with iPhone X to me is the screen lie. While it is advertised as a 5.8" device, due to that fugly notch and rounded corners, the actual usable area is less than the 8 Plus. It is in fact only 10-15% bigger (depending on how you are counting) than the regular 8.

It is not a phablet, so comparing it to the Note 8 is meaningless.Compare it to S8. Maybe in 2018, when there is an XI Plus? 11 Plus? X2 Plus? Or whatever else they come up with. As it stands, different audience.

On a totally separate note (ha), before my Note, I made fun of face unlock all the time. Now, I'm really enjoying having both fingerprint and face unlock.

I completely agree. I think a lot of people coming from the plus models will be disappointed with the screen size. I thought about picking one up to go along with my note but the screen size has me worried. Going to hold off a bit.

Samsumg sold more then 100 million more phones then apple every year for the last 8 years . Matter fact apple is about to be over taken in the #2 spot by one of the Chinese companies. Not sure why it matter I this forum how many iPhones they sell we love notes . That why we bought then . Just referring to flagship models. No one cares how many the low and middle range models are selling.
