Note10+ fingerprint sensor slow as hell!

Worked great here. Definitely more snappy.

Yeah, the longer I've been playing with it today, the more snappy I believe it actually is than my original perception (because I'm one of the ones who's been happy with the FPS).

I have several finger prints on mine and I believe the sensitivity is set higher. I usually don't have an issue with it. I think it's a timing / pressure thing.
This took what I thought was reasonably fast and made it slightly faster.

Mine is fast when it works. The problem is getting it to read the fingerprint in the first place. I've set them up multiple times and have the same two prints saved multiple times. It's just not very good. I think it does vary from person to person. We all have different fingerprints, obviously, so some may read better than others. I've never had an issue with "traditional" fingerprint readers. It's not a deal breaker for me, but it does make me appreciate Apple's Face ID.

I find different fingerprints work better. My left thumb works all the time. My right thumb, my fingerprint is more smooth and does not work as well. My index finger works fine, but I find that very awkward to use on the note 10+.

I timed mine. Is 3 secs really that slow? Especially when you don't have to have the screen on to activate fingerprint unlock. I think a lot of people are having a hard time locating placement with screen off. It is much perfered for me since my phone is usually laying flat on a desk when I unlock it in which faceid would not work.

Yes. Yes it is. It used to be almost instantaneous with the old capacitive fingerprint sensors.

Yes. It does for me as well. It was already working fine before I did this. I didn't register two fingers twice. I have four different fingers registered and no problems.
Just need the option for your pinky lol

I agree three seconds would be slow, but I haven't found the delay to be over a second with either the S10+ or Note10+. Granted that capacitive still has the edge if speed means much but so far the ultrasonic hasn't changed my life. Rear capacitive FPS was fine but some like it up front so it's the devil we're dealing with for now.

Same here. The s10 series had the same reports on the FPS, nobody should have expected anything different on the note 10.

Well, tried everything here with no luck. No, mine didn't take 3s to unlock - it would be unacceptable for me - but it took more time than I'm used to. So, I changed it for a brand new one and... Same thing. Yes, it's a downside of this new and "revolutionary" technology. Now it's time to hope Samsung somehow fix it with an update. Yes, I'm a bit disappointed, since my second device is an iPhone X (lightning fast FaceID) and I'm coming from an OT 6T (fast as can be, too).

Just one curiosity: prior to buy this device I literally watched more than a dozen reviews of it and nobody, simply no YT reviewer, even mentioned this issue. Nothing. Never. Zero words. Can I start wondering how these guys earn money with their work?

Did you watch any YT videos on the s10 FPS?

Do we have a definitive answer on what that toggle is actually doing? I'm totally fine with my FPS and don't want to go dinking around with some setting without a really good reason.

I put mine back to normal and it still feels fast. Felt like my battery was dropping faster than need be.
