Note10+ fingerprint sensor slow as hell!

I agree. I love my N10+ but I prefer the lightning quick FPS on my OP7P which btw just got Android 10. Let's hope Samsung releases an update to improve the speed on this FPS.

I can understand a preference but it's not like the speed of the Note 10 hinders anything. Mine opens as soon as I lift my finger off.

I never stated it was a hindrance. I'm just spoiled by the speed of the OP7P. Just like the 90hz display. I prefer that with the smoothness of Oxygen OS. It's too bad Samsung didn't use the 90hz display on this generation even though it was ready for prime time since they already supplied it to OnePlus.

Nor is it for me. I'm wondering how many people are using the stock screen protector, or are using a third party protector. If anybody is using a third party protector, did they remove the stock one. If they removed it, what third party screen protector are they using. I have Otao protector on the way as a back up for when my stock protector needs replacing (it has a small tear from when I dropped it last weekend).

I'm not a fan of the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor as I agree with you that it's slow as hell. Hopefully the next version of it will be better.

I timed mine. Is 3 secs really that slow? Especially when you don't have to have the screen on to activate fingerprint unlock. I think a lot of people are having a hard time locating placement with screen off. It is much perfered for me since my phone is usually laying flat on a desk when I unlock it in which faceid would not work.

Mine is fast when it works. The problem is getting it to read the fingerprint in the first place. I've set them up multiple times and have the same two prints saved multiple times. It's just not very good. I think it does vary from person to person. We all have different fingerprints, obviously, so some may read better than others. I've never had an issue with "traditional" fingerprint readers. It's not a deal breaker for me, but it does make me appreciate Apple's Face ID.

3 seconds would be slow. Mine doesnt take that long.

I don't know if this will make a difference for some of you or not, but saved this from the Note 10+ Facebook group. My FPS is pretty bang on and fast, so I can't tell much of a difference myself. Others have said it helped.

I'm counting from the time I put my finger on the screen with the display off. I also don't have my transition setting turned off, but 3 secs is good for me.

3 seconds would be slow. Mine doesnt take that long.

You can actually omit step 2 and 3 and just search for optimize battery usage. Will yield same results.

It made mine faster too. I'm assuming this wont impact the battery too much but now I'm wondering why its enabled by default

I have several finger prints on mine and I believe the sensitivity is set higher. I usually don't have an issue with it. I think it's a timing / pressure thing.
