Note10+ fingerprint sensor slow as hell!

That's just it....using the Spen seems inconvenient or am I missing something?

It's only convenient if the S Pen is already out and in use when the screen locks. For example, you're in class and taking notes and the screen locks in between times of note taking. Just click the button and voila it unlocks and you continue with your note taking.

Otherwise, no it is not more convenient and it is less secure.

That doesnt sound secure. I mean I'm not one to be too concerned about what's on my device, but if one can open the device with the Spen doesn't seem to secure if someone catches on.
Yes. It works. The only issue I have with this method is security. If you lose your phone or it is stolen, somebody can just unlock it using this method. Just pull out the S Pen and click the button. Voila! Unlocked phone.

There is always a trade off between convenience and security. The most secure methods are the most inconvenient and the most convenient methods are the least secure.
Yeah it's not secure, but a option most don't know about

You should. There is more than just pictures and videos on your phone. There is ALL kinds of info on your phone that can be used to gain access to other stuff that is NOT on the phone.

Pretty much all banking apps require some form of log in, but what about email and texts apps? Once logged in, the mobile versions of most email apps don't require you to log in every time, unless you tell them to.

A person who has possession of your unlocked phone can then just click on the, "I forgot my password" link in your banking app and then request an unlock code via text or email.

Your phone, just like your laptop or desktop is a gateway into a crap ton of info.

Quick question...

Why does the screen start moving when you use the fps? That is super annoying. How do you turn it off? My sensor is hit and miss and gets annoying sometimes.

Really they would have done a face ID comparable to Apple. I don't care if the hole punch out would have been slightly larger. It would have still been better looking at than that big notch Apple has.

Allow me too elaborate...I'm not too concerned because I've taken steps to protect the important stuff and my device is always within my sight otherwise its locked down.

Not sure what you mean by the screen moving

Not sure if this will help somebody. For those who don't keep their AOD on, the fingerprint icon is not visible. I set my screen to "lift to wake", which briefly illuminates it long enough for me to get a perfect finger placement.

With my note 8 I always had to lift my phone up to access the rear fingerprint, so it's the same process with this setup.

You can also set it to tap to wake for 10 secomds and double tap to go to lock screen

Not sure if they mean the ripple effect (like dropping a pebble into water) that extends out from the FPS when you scan your finger. Doesn't bother me personally, so I haven't looked to see if it can be disabled or not.

That is the screen transition effect under biometric preferences. Turned off the FPS feels a bit fasterScreenshot_20190925-221758_Settings.jpeg

I expect this to improve over time. I am already reading about upgrades to the in-screen FPS on the S11, including a much larger sensor area.
I agree It will be improved more & more with each generation. Just like the Note edge. It took Samsung a couple of tries to polish the edge screen.

And I still don't like the curved display. If it was just the glass it would sort of be OK.

Yeah I was hope for a flat screen version on the N10. I want flat screens as an option.
I'm opposite, I like the edge screen. I was surprised Samsung didn't do a flat screen note 10 like they did with the s10. I'm guessing the sales on the s10 flat screen weren't that great. If rumors are true, the note 11 will be rebranded to the s11+. Far as I'm concerned, the s11 series should all have the s pen, and then they could have flat screen and curved screen. let's face it, the note and s series are basically the same phone, one just has the s pen. I would rather see them just include the s pen on both s 11 series phones and give choice of flat screen or curved, if that rumor is true

I would imagine they would still at least one high end model for people who don't want an Spen

That was it. Thank you.

I would venture to guess that a software update or two should be able to make the fps better but I don't know. I wish it worked like the One Plus 7's but I understand that it is different technology and probably not as secure.

Thinking they should have left it off at least one more year to perfect it before they released it. Hopefully with the upcoming updates they will work on it a bit more.
