Notifications & Ringtone Volume Low?

Will boosting the volume ruin the speaker? I don't want to break my new phone :(

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
I wondered that too, on a display model i used volume plus and while louder it made the speaker distort which seems could damage the speaker over time.

I also had volume+ installed and had terrible distortion with the speaker on my original GN. I didn't know volume+ was what was causing it. I never installed volume+ on my replacement and never had any distortion with the replacement so maybe that is what was causing it. Interesting.

People, i had this problem today, i tried a lot of stuff, none worked... untill i turned my mobile off/on. :p

It?s working perfectly now.

I hope it help someone with the same problem.

The easiest way I have found to do this requires a single file from Windows XP.
SNDREC32.exe is a super simple app that will boost volume of wav. files. You will need to convert mp3 to wav, send it through sndrec32 and convert it back. Yes it works in Windows 7. Just have someone with an XP machine copy that file and drop the .exe so the email app will accept it.
If you need an easy file conversion tool, Switch Sound File Converter is free.

Good luck

I contacted Samsung because, while I love the phone, I CANNOT hear the notifications. They said it may be addressed in a future fix but also told me that I can contact Voice Support to express my concerns. Maybe if a large group contacts them it will speed things along.

You can contact our voice support at 1-888-987-4357, Mon-Fri: 7 AM - 9 PM (CST), Sat: 9 AM - 6 PM (CST).

The ringtone volume on my Galaxy S5 gets reset to a very low level for no apparent reason. Any thoughts??

ok got the phone finally, been playing around with it. anyone else notice all the sounds on the phone are really low? ie. ringtone and all notifications? the speaker is not up to par as the tbolt, anyway of getting these sounds higher? and yes ofcourse i increased the volume under settings

Just uncheck use same as ringtone and it works fine ...u get the option for notifications sound move it all the way down then back up ....worked for me

I recorded a loud ringtone into the phone and setting this recorded audio as the ringtone. It works. Now I need to set the phone volume lower !

Hoping someone might see this, even though this thread is old. I've got a government issue ZTE Legacy. I downloaded a program so that I could have individual ringtones for specific people, then I downloaded ringtones from Zedge.net. Some work good, some not so much. Anyone know if there is a way to increase the volume on ONLY ONE ringtone? I have one in particular that sounds HORRIBLE and one that sounds REALLY LOUD, so I don't know if I can really adjust accordingly. Thanks!

My ring tones are very low why I've got the volume turned on high not a good phone I've only just bought won't be recommending it
