Has anybody in North America, and in particular Canada, received the Nougat update for the 8.0 " wifi S2 SM-T713?

Samobile has the UK version, but I prefer getting the specific version for my territory.

I'm in Canada (Ontario). I got the Nougat update about 2 or maybe 3 weeks ago for the 8" WiFi SM-T710 ....i know you asked about the SM-T713, but i believe the 710 is the older model, so I would assume the update should be available for the 713 since it's the newer of the two.

That's the rub. I know the earlier SM-T710 was widely updated almost a month ago, but so far the SM-T713 excpt in the UK has not been updated , to my knowledge. Anybody?

No update here in North America that I know of. I'm in California and nothing.

In Minnesota and nothing for T713 yet. Samsung has strange ways when it comes to updates. This makes no sense.

Has anybody tried to flash the UK version of Nougat onto their SM-T713? The UK firmware can be found on Sammmobile.

This is aggravating. I went through the same thing with my Galaxy Tab 7.0 plus a few years ago. It shipped with honeycomb and never got any official update in Canada. The US models got an ice cream sandwich update. The Europe models got jellybean. I suffered from glitches for almost two years. When i was ready to trash my Tab 7.0 plus, i took a chance and flashed the uk jellybean firmware from sammobile and it worked. I cannot understand why Samsung cannot push all the updates to everybody everywhere

I swore then i would never buy a samsung again. Fortunately I did not pay any money for my s2. I was able to get it for "free" using AirMiles. I have only had it for about 3 months. It is working well and i don't want to take any unnecessary risks.. But if somebody has done it and can report good results, i may try it.

I've been running the UK version on my US T713 for a month now and its flawless. Great battery life and very snappy.

Just choose US English during setup and you won't know the difference.

I rooted with magisk and flashed ashyx's twrp 3.1.0-1 for Nougat at XDA (tab s2 / Android development) formated Data without patching boot and all is great.

I would rather just wait. It will be out soon enough. Frustrating none the less but don't feel the need to flash different versions.

Jhill110 and anybody else that flashed the UK version of nougat for sm-t713:

1. Did you just use Odin to flash the nougat rom?

2. As a result of flash, did it wipe all your data/storage?

3. Did you have to root your S2 to do this? Or is rooting optional?

4. Do you have any issues or problem with the UK nougat?

It has been 2 months since the nougat roll out. I am starting to lose hope that samsung will push nougat to sm-t713 in US and Canada. Same thing happened with my old galaxy tab 7 plus and jellybean. I had to flash a uk version. I am still hesitant to flash because my s2 is only about 4 months and is working fine.

This is great tablet. It's become my daily driver in regards to tablets. But this lack of updates is more than frustrating. This is where Google/Android really suffers to iOS.

I'm in California and my T713 updated to Nougat yesterday. Clean update, very stable and already notice improved battery performance.

It downloaded today! June 7. Vancouver, Canada.

Now the hard part, making the final decision to install.

I like to read other people's reviews of any new software for my particular device and see what are potential issues before installing.

I used to have a constant wifi disconnect reconnect with Marshmallow. Seems that's fixed with Nougat. I'm very happy with the upgrade.

Bit the bullet and installed nougat. No issues so far. But imo, the UI gets more plain looking with each new version of android.

Getting lightweight. Helps with removing lag. I'll take that every day.

Battery level after 17 hours of standby dropped from 100% to 99%. That's good.

It seems to me the speakers are now louder after the 7.0 update.

It has been a week and there has been no issues.
