Nova Launcher lagging?

Hey guys, I have been experiencing lag with my Droid Turbo when closing apps, especially when returning to the home screen. I routinely close apps in the app drawer, reboot my phone daily and do the usual maintenance. I assume that this is caused by Nova. Just wanted to check to see if anyone else has experienced this before or if anyone has any other suggestions.

I use nova prime with no issues. Maybe reinstall the app just to see if that fixes it.

I'm fairly confident that closing apps in the Recents list (which is what I assume you mean by "app drawer") does not do much for this type of problem. I've noticed that even after a reboot, this list contains apps I've used before the reboot. This implies that it really is "recent" apps and not just "running" apps. I also rarely reboot my Turbo.

I've used Nova for quite a long time and I've not had any of the lag you mention with the Turbo. Perhaps you have a widget that is poorly written, taking over your processor? I also have only one or two widgets active, do you have more than that showing?

I have six widgets running, two of which I usually don't use often. I closed them. I'll also take inventory of my apps, see if I can remove any that I don't use all that often. I'll try reinstalling Nova tomorrow when I have some free time. Thanks for the help.

If you're referring to the lag when closing out apps on the recents screen, this became a fairly common issue after the update to Lollipop. Wasn't a problem before it.
It happens no matter which launcher is used, stock or otherwise. The worst part is, it doesn't happen all the time, so it's not easily diagnosed and fixed.
