Nova or Google now launcher

You know... I think I've seen a pattern. The people who've used Now all along say that it doesn't use much power, the ones trying it out say its brutal. I'd love to bend the ear of a google app dev and ask him a few questions... :) one of them would be if a NEW user to Google Now and the stock Google launcher might expend quite a few more CPU cycles starting out... once you get past some kind of usage hump, you are home free.

I mean, I've used Now since it first launched, and the Google launcher ever since... and I am all up in Now's business all day long. And power consumption related to Now and those types of activities is pretty low on the power totem pole.

You know since you seen mention that because when I was using google now launcher I would barely use a Google Search app within the launcher and the usage was always 15th and 16% battery. I think the lowest I was able to get it down to a standard 12% battery. I have no idea why. I figured I would try nova launcher and within a few battery cycles it was at 3% or 5% battery. I don't get it. Oh no that is better and battery, and it's much more customizable I don't have to have folders in my dock bar and which are annoying but it's very nice not to have launch the folder then launch the app within the folder.

I see you say nova all the way - why is this - please can you tell me why, how is it better than the google launcher etc
Just try them both out and see which you prefer. The two launchers live peaceably together on the same device: you'll just need to select one or the other under Settings--> Home. Moving from one to the other is as easy as changing that selection. And the free version of Nova is more than good enough to get started with.

Beats waiting to be convinced by someone else who probably doesn't even use a phone the same way you do... I mean, beyond the whole phone calls thing.

You know since you seen mention that ....

Yeah... don't know what to tell you. Like I mentioned, I am a huge Now user... its awesome... and if you look into the detailed battery stats, Google app is waaaaay down the list.

Yeah like I said, I know it sounds weird and all, but all I know is that my my battery usage was wayyyyy up there and every single time I would charge up the phone, it would be the same exact way, no matter what. Didn't make any sense to me. You would thing with a 3220 mah battery, the phone would get decent battery power wheels of the mass of screen. Besides my brightness settings are extremely low not at the lowest but low enough for real world visibility.
