Now available to "Reserve"

I want Note 9 and I want it now!!!!

I wonder for us that got to "reserve" if we get to order that Thur assuming Fri is when it officially opens for orders or maybe that Wed they let us pre order it I hope.

They say by Aug 24. Hopefully we get it a week earlier than that though. I can't remember the Note 8 because of Irma but didn't Samsung ship it out that Monday though and people were getting them on Tue and Wed?

Of course I got it a week and half later because UPS didn't get it onto the flight in time and then it got to Miami and sat in the warehouse during Irma and after for a week. Watch my luck we get another storm again. I was worried about my Note 8 even when Irma was forecasted to come close to me as a cat 4 in a storm surge area.

Honestly, I don't want my Note 9 until I got a good case for it because I won't be able to take it anywhere. No way I'm spending $60 on otterbox again like I did last time.

No one is going to get preferential treatment. I don't understand all of the need to have a phone a day or week before anyone else. I know people are excited. But, it's just a phone.
In another month or two, most people here will be in the S10 thread.

I wonder when the s10 will be launched, especially if there is no Note next year and the Larger S10 takes its place. Is the S10 plus going to have the Spen, or wait until the following year and have no Spen phone released next year since the Note will still be fairly new?

I think many of us Note 9 users will be getting the S10 plus based on how good spec wise it is supposed to be and possible 8gb ram.

Well, Samsung.com reserve says guaranteed by the 24th. From what I've seen that is the official in stores launch date. If it ships early maybe we will get it on Aug 17th if they decide to ship a week early? That would be cutting it pretty close after the unpacked event though. The way the calendar looks though we will probably get it on the 23rd one day before in store launch. It is possible they ship out that weekend and we get them on Monday and Tue but the way it looks it will be like s8 plus and they're making us wait this time.

If the last couple of launches are any indication, the phone orders will be sent to the delivery service (UPS or FedEx) and then put on hold to not be actually delivered until the ship date. That way all the carriers can be ready for an influx of new activations and phone setups around the same time.

There is still no official in store date but the various sites hint at the 24th. So if that's the case then they might not be releasing it that early to us, just a day early maybe, and not like the Note 8 where some got it almost a week early. If it's early I think that Monday or Tue we get them then. I just doubt it's the 17th, a week early because that would be just 8 days after the event to officially reveal it. So I'm not counting on it a week early this time. Who knows though. Maybe we do get it on the 17th. Samsung.com shipped fairly early last time for a change.

They're not actually held by the delivery services. Most big companies have in house FedEx and UPS capabilities. If they lease temporary warehouses for a big launch, it's still Samsung. The order in which they scanned your particular package has no bearing on when it will ship.

Good point. I recall the reports from previous releases of people complaining that they had recieved a shipping notice but the phone itself was not yet on the way. And many here had to point out that just because someone has printed out a delivery slip, does not mean that it is on a truck and ready for delivery that same day. Whoever manages it, Samsung wants the whole delivery process set up to have many reports of new customers showing off their phones all in as short a release period as possible to build hype.

Yea we always say that. A tracking number is created and they go bat sh crazy for days while it sits.

I wonder how much longer after "the big announcement" will T-Mobile will go live with pre-orders? I'm guessing either that midnight or the following week.

What about the reserve people? I wonder if it will be that thur or maybe even a day before. Looking at the calendar we might get them 3 or so days early but it's doubtful we get it a week early like on Aug 17th.

Thursday, the day before the announcement, for pre-orders? Is that what you meant? If so, I can guarantee you that won't happen.
Also, why would you think Samsung would deliver early when they are typically the last ones to deliver? They tend to stick right to the release schedule.

Reserved two unlocked Note 9s for the wifey and myself. Both trading Note 8s.

Got in a reservation for an unlocked Note 9. Will most likely buying the 512 GB version

Added Pixel 2 XL as trade in but will probably buy without trade in since I'll be getting more than 450 selling direct and also don't have to deal with horrible Samsung trade in department.

The Note 8 Samsung delivered close to the same time the carriers shipped. I would have got mine really early too if it wasn't for my phone not getting on the plane in time and then sitting in Miami for almost a week because of Irma.

Just your luck. Hurricane Hector is going to swing across to the Atlantic. Hit around 8/21 so the Note 9 gets delayed!!!

Just reserved the Verizon version. I've had bad luck with unlocked versions in the past. Hopefully we can get them a few days before everyone else.

How can I do a trade in for T-Mobile? Or is it in possible? Do I have to have the phone completely paid off first?

I reserved mine through samsung. I will likely just sell my Note 8 though, but have to see. Was wanting factory unlocked like I have now.

I monitor the weather. The long range models sorta show things heating up around 8/20 the prime time of hurricane season out in the far atlantic but it looks like I will be safe this time if we get them in that time frame unless a home brew system gets going. Sept looks like it will be the active month and a late start this year.
