You keep repeating in every response that any stance contrary to how YOU feel the ip6 should be carried is stupid, lazy, etc.I don't think myself high but practical.
The only disconnect is from people who can't comprehend simple logic.
There are people who are lazy and there are people who are stupid in this world and I have no reservations about being direct about them. If this offends your sensibility on the subject, I apologize but have always been this way.
If a person damages their phone because they refuse to take precautions against doing so out of being inconvenienced as I have stated that is being lazy. If they continue to lament the fact that is stupidity and if they continue to not learn from mistakes that is being stupid..
.
Now the question remains, is it recommended to carry such an expensive and large phone in a manner that can cause serious damage acceptable because of past practices of carrying a much smaller device in the same manner? Should the company have known that people would do this and have tested it in a manner that they don't recommend doing it?
The answer is in my opinion no...and if I am not mistaken they tested the phones in a manner that all manufacturers do and as such the onus of common sense rest with the consumer and as such they released the product for sale. Why... because large phones have been out long enough for most of the market to know about the best method of carrying them and protecting them properly.
Carrying large phones have a different set of issues than that of much smaller devices and it is up to the consumer to use common sense when going about it and choose the right size phone for their usages and how they carry the device.
I look at things from a practical approach and have a firm grasp of the laws of physics and also know full well Murphy's law of life. It's sad that many people don't. Many people who have a great hatred against Apple and enjoy posting negativity when ever they can rail against people who say anything against their own point of view as what has happened here...
FYI... my definition of stupid and stupidity can apply to highly intelligent people but both give the benefit of the doubt to the individual. With this issue it comes down to wither this person is ignorant of certain facts or if they have automatically assumed certain facts based on faulty reasonings, or have ignored these for sake of convenience... hence calling some of them just lazy. If the latter then their actions would be called stupid not them in person. We've all done stupid things before, but the majority learn from these things and strive to not repeat them.... Those who don't are stupid.
Who are you to say so? No really, who are you? Are you some kind of known tech pundit or guru that makes you qualified to pass judgment? Hardly. I think it's much more accurate to say you're being narrow minded with an over inflated sense of the actual worth of your own opinions.
Maybe people like to carry their phone in their back pocket. Maybe lots of people do so. I certainly see a ton of people doing so. I certainly know I see a lot of people over the years here and elsewhere have related "oops" incidents like me where they've forgotten it was there and sat on it. But according to you, we're stupid and lazy.
A holster or a purse shouldn't have to be a requirement for a phablet sized device. Some users are big men with large hands and large pants and pockets. I can concede that a holster might be more ideal for a little wee fella who wants a big phone, but that doesn't give a small built guy the right to criticize people who aren't petite. You seem to be forgetful of the fact that a 6 inch phone to a big guy will feel like an iPhone 4 to you.
I think A895 makes an excellent point here as well:
I totally agree. Blanket accusations towards the user with no criticism leveled at the manufacturers is just more of the same kinds of ignorance and arrogance people put up with from the apologists and fanboys who were piping off with the 'you're holding it wrong' line that Apple fed them. But why should someone take extra precautions to use a device they use EVERY day? By default smartphone companies should be focusing on function than form.
I don't care what anyone says, Apple should have known before hand that making their phones so damn thin they were more suspectable to being bent and then not bending back because of the metal body.
This also goes for other iPhones as well, I knew many people with broken I phones and I myself have broken a few phones in the past couple years. Smartphones are too fragile.
I should have to change the way I use my phone, my phone should adapt to who I already am and how I live. This is why the 6 Plus would be the last phone I recommend to anyone because of this.
Not to mention it is a freaking phablet that is bigger than other phablets. Have you seen it next to a G3? It makes the G3 look normal.
