Decided to go ahead and take the plunge with SetCPU finally. Doing 122/729 with interactive and 122/600 with interactive after the battery drops below 50%. Hopefully this doesn't kill the battery too badly.

Have you experienced any issues with anything while in the 122 state? Thought I'd read previously that that can be too low for certain actions to occur reliably.

Thanks in advance.

Zefie says to use ondemand, not interactive:

EDIT: nevermind, zefie says interactive is fine. Sorry for the confusion.

According to what Ive read interactive *reacts* to load much faster than ondemand, which means where ondemand may have issues reacting to a phone call, interactive Jump right to a higher clock and isn't a issue. Its also quicker to jump to a lower clock I think so it can be better than battery.

I just tested it with my desk phone and it was fine
on screen off i have it set to 122->468 interactive

I remember with ondemand(and plugin) i could get all the way to the desktop before it would switch speeds and it was laggy

I can't really notice the clock switches with interactive governor

So I just rooted my Optimus S, Installed Thunderom 1.5 and the latest build of Xionia, what exactly is Xionia doing making my phone faster? Allowing it to be overclocked, what do I have to do to overclock and what are the best settings, I would rather use a free app besides SetCPU...please let me know what apps will make my phone super leet =] Thanks guys

Ok I got SetCPU and set the overclock to be 806/122 with interactive for the governer here are my results. Linpack I got 8.576 and Quadrant got 512. Does that sound good to you guys? Or am I doing something wrong. I am running thunderom 1.5 also...Thanks...I must say this phone reacts really really quick now!

Quick question: anyone else having an issue where, after a reboot, when you go back in to Setcpu it complains about not being able to autodetect correctly? The max slider is all the way down (on the left) but the min slider seems to be correct. I've just got it set to start on boot, with max speed of 729 and min of 122. No profiles in use at all. Thanks in advance.

Ive had it reset like that where there both down, I'm assuming its something with the rom as it didn't happen non overclock

also I get a crash every now and then when I use apps involving the phones camera

It could be a feature to stop a reboot loop?

Your quadrant is low, at 768
I got a 7.9 on linpack
a 1304 in quadrant, I got a text in quadrant once and it dropped to 900

I flashed the delux build prop on top of TR1.5 with JIT, hardware acceleration and stagefright

Are you stable at that speed? I tried it but i could get a crash just by moving around the homescreen.

Speaking about homescreen I bought launcher pro and use its facebook/twitter built in widgets over the standard ones because it should reduce overhead vs running 3 separate processes (not verified)

I tried 806 but it kept crashing in benchmark :(

Yes, that happens to me. I installed the kernel on Sunday but didn't install SetCPU, as I don't really have a big desire to overclock, just wanted to see if there was any other advantages to using it. Then I got curious so I purchased SetCPU and fidled a bit, and now when I restart the phone the slider for max is all the way to the left. To reset it I have SetCPU autodetect again and it resets the max to 600. I don't know too much about overclocking so I just figured it is my inexperience with SetCPU.

Ive noticed when u first open it after its messed up the original clock is still in effect (says 768 max at the top of mine),but the bars are messed up.

So if you dont change the bars it will keep the original setting

so I think the best solution is to set it and forget it, so even after it reboots/resets its still keeping the clock.

You can use the widget to confirm if you have doubts

If you are not going to use profiles, you should give Overclock Widget a try.

Does the Overclock Widget allow usage of the "interactive" scheduler vs the default "ondemand"? That really does seem to make a difference in overall responsiveness.

No it does not, it just seems as a simpler interface, although I changed because I saw people in the forums complaining of bricking phones with setCPU (I believe).

On a side note, it seems people also are having problems when they try to do a factory reset via the settings option in the rom. Maybe KSmith and beezy can disable this for now, until they find a fix.

Bugmage: TR1.5 Comes with HW acceleration, JIT, and stagefright, right? I think it does...what do you mean delux build prop? of this Xionia? I cant get my quadrant speeds above 540, and yes it is running stable at 806 and seems really snappy...Also maybe its because programs keep popping up in the background or maybe its my microsd card? I got a class 10 on the way in the mail...newegg.com has a 16gig for $30! I am wondering what else I can do...
*update*
I see TR1.5 comes with all that stuff you listed, but you are running the Xionia Kernal also right? I wonder why my quadrant is so slow....I am also running advance task killer, LauncherPro and AVG Antivirus which maybe slowing down the quadrant. I am looking for another home screen as LauncherPro seems slow to switch from vertical to horizontal, anyone else have that problem? What is a really good LauncherPro and some more good programs to help the appearance and speed of the phone? I am new to this android stuff and want to learn it all =]

OK, so I have Xionia i0.5 installed, and am noticing some odd behavior which may or may not be related: Google sky maps causes a reboot of the phone after a few seconds.

I don't have a copy of the original kernal, so I can't see if this also happens using a stock phone.

Can someone else try it and see what's going on?

Thanks....

What is your clock speed set to?

I have Xionia and TR 1.5 installed and Sky maps works fine for me OC at 806, Sky Maps has always worked. Also I figured out that you have to flash the deluxe build prop seperatly than the TR1.5 doing tests now...

wholly ****, since I flashed the deluxebuildprop my phone doubled+ speed. Linpack results before were 8.576 now it is just 9.074 heres the killer thing quadrant went from just 495 to a whopping 1190....the thing is just amazing now...

Stagefright inflates Quadrant

Quadrant scores are inflated with Stagefright enabled, it's a bug, search the forums, it is stated in several places.

Just use Overclock widget. It free and you will never have any issue. Also android hacker tool will let you change the governor with just 2 ticks...
