Custom Recovery Optimus S/ Thunderc-sprint - Android Forums

Zefie,

Is there a way to add this to the recovery image without a re-compile?

I'm still using the stock Sprint rom with your replacement kernel for overclock.

I have the 1.2 recovery from getitnowmarketing installed.

I just wanted that option for the flash eraseall since it seems it can be easy to corrupt the flash.

Thanks!

*I tried sending a PM, but didn't have enough posts yet.*

i dont have flash_eraseall in the kernel its in the ramdisk. I have it in my custom recovery I can dump it later.

actually here, you can just push this to your phone in recovery via adb when you need it.

Still looking for ideas to improve this kernel. Got any?

OpenVPN Tun module

new kernel released.

if anyone wants VPN fixed help me with this:
Code:
D/mtpd ( 2341): Waiting for control socket
D/SProxy_mtpd( 2280): mtpd is running after 200 msec
D/mtpd ( 2341): Received 20 arguments
I/mtpd ( 2341): Using protocol pptp
I/mtpd ( 2341): Connecting to 192.168.2.1 port 1723
I/SProxy_mtpd( 2280): got data from control socket: 20
I/mtpd ( 2341): Connection established (socket = 11)
D/mtpd ( 2341): Sending SCCRQ
D/mtpd    ( 2341): Received SCCRP -> Sending OCRQ (local = 8251)
I/mtpd ( 2341): Tunnel established
D/mtpd ( 2341): Received OCRQ (remote = 0)
I/mtpd ( 2341): Session established
I/mtpd ( 2341): Creating PPPoX socket
F/mtpd    ( 2341): Connect() Operation not permitted

I added pppox, so idk what the issue is now.

I'd love to help, but I can't connect to my PPTP VPN w/ the stock kernel :(

Well I am using your overclocking kernal and now my phone is stuck at the Android screen and won't move....

What ROM are you using?

Go back into the Recovery, Disable the Signature settings, re-flash the kernel.

I am still using the stock rom and had to disable signatures for this kernel
to work correctly and reboot.

If you set the speed to an unstable level, probably 806 or higher, and checked a set on boot option, you may need to reflash a kernel that does not allow speeds that high. This can be accomplished with ThundeROM.

Test the speed that your phone runs at for a while, before telling it to set at boot. Each phone has it's own sweet spot. Some phones are stable at 806. My phone, 768.

Sent from my ThundeROMed Optimus S using tapatalk...

Zefie, your kernel has apps2sd support right?

Sent from my LG Optimus S using Tapatalk Pro.

No, apps2sd is pointless with Froyo and up.

But if you really wanted it AFAIK thats just RAMDisk changes. Kernel has ext2/3 support.

don't use app2sd, use titanium backup, it moves all apps to sd even the ones froyo or app2sd can't move.

The free edition has batch move to sd under menu->batch

just don't move anything widget related

When you work on the new kernel, can you change voltages?

Now that we have a overclocking kernel is it a good idea to work on finding the lowest voltages percpu clock?

maybe extend battery life?

someone mentioned the ls670keeps the same voltage from 245 to 480 so flipping speeds in that range doesn't really save any power...

Didn't have it set but at like 706 and I didn't check "set on boot option"...I just reflashed it back to ThunderRom no OC kernal.

Almost pointless, old style a2sd allows all files to be moved to sd, not just certain ones, and I've seen a few people state that it's faster using ext3 as well, but probably not by much.

As does native if you know what you are doing.. see my thread about "saving space"

overclocked to 787mhz without any issues. got 615 benchmark score with this kernel and Thunderom. very impressive for an Android lightweight.

That would be awesome as my Hero had Overclock/Undervolt and that made a nice difference on battery life.
