I have an older s7 laying around that I was going to go ahead and try to root. It is a Snapdragon processor but I'm trying to use an Engineering Bootloader I found for Oreo. I have the 8.0 FW and 9.0 SE. My phone is through Verizon and I have the SM-G930V. I have tried all three different usb ports on my laptop and Odin fails everytime at the same spot.

You putting those files in PIT ? Or checking PIT off ?

Forgive me as this is my first time rooting, but I didn't mess with the pit options at all, as Odin said not too. I was following the OP in the forum that the first guy mentioned. That's where I got the files originally. I turned on allow oem unlock, rebooted in developer mode, launched Odin, plugged in phone, then loaded the ENG_Boot.tar in the AP slot. When I start, it goes through the list in my OP.

One thing I noticed is that I'm not on Verizon's v_8 bootloader anymore. I'm on their most recent one, v_10. I think that may be why I can't flash the ENG_BOOT. I have come to the conclusion through my research there is, at this time, no way to unlock the v_10 bootloader

No problem !
You need to unzip those files and put them in their corresponding slot
Ap with Ap
BPwith bp
Csc with CSC
Cs with cs

You dont just put that file in AP

I downloaded WinZip and then when I unzipped AP_SM_G930_OREO_ENG_BOOT.tar all I get out of is a Disk Image File named boot

When you extract it should look like this
Also extract it within that file View attachment 309930

Idk, I'm about to just give up. I tried 7zip thinking maybe it was just WinZip having an issue. I extracted and got the same thing. I opened the archive to see what's in it, and this is all that's inside of the .tar file.
