Flashing S21 Ultra t-mobile branded to unlocked?

Hi Everyone,

I am a new samsung owner. I recently got s21 ultra t-mobile branded. It is now network unlocked. But i wanted to have a clean bloat free phone so wanted to have unlocked firmware.

As i understand it, i need XAA G998-UA firmware which i downloaded from frija. Do i need to use patched odin or regular odin 3.14.4 would work? If i need patched odin what is the recommended one with link if possible.

Finally, is it recommended to flash home csc or csc, i would like to keep my data but not sure if any problems will happen if i choose home_csc

You would need the patched(prince comsey) odin
Back.up your device to smartphone switchon pc as this will factory reset first time going to unlocked firmware after that you can use home csc if you want to flash security updates .

Thanks Mustang, so you are saying that flashing home_csc will also factory reset or just csc and which one to pick when flashing from U to U1 for first time?

Use regular csc , home is if you were already on the unlocked firmware or if your on carrier firmware and just updating to next security patch so it doesn't factory reset , but going from carrier to unlocked or vice versa will always factory reset so regular csc always in that situation.

Do you have a link for prince odin. I found that there are recent 3.14.1 modded\patched odin, should i use this or stick to prince odin and if you can share a link. What is the difference as well?

Also will i get OTA when i flash unlocked? Thanks soo much

Awesome, very last thing. Do i need to remove my sim card while flashing? or its fine to keep. Read somewhere that it might not move to U1 if i keep simcard?

Sim card shouldn't make a difference , I always had mine in when flashing.

So I flashed it. I see it now as U1 but under service provider software service I see tmb/tmb/tmb I thought one of them would be xaa? Did I do something wrong. Also upon restarting device it says an unathorized attempt has been made to factory reset your device, could this be why?

I did flash csc not home. When i go to download mode again it still shows carrier as tmb. Would appreciate guidance and thanks again!

That correct the way it shows Tmb/Tmb/Tmb
The first 2 shows you have Tmobile sim and last one shows the device is Tmobile originally.

You gave successfully flashed to the U1 unlocked firmware.

Strange , should say Att/Att/Tmb

Can I see screen shot in settings>about phone>software?

Thanks alot for following up. Attached screenshot. Btw when i go back to Frija i see that says ATT CSC is not supported, even though SAMFW lists it. Could this be another issue why?

When you download the firmware from frija what did you use as region? Xaa

No home csc , all 4 files for firmware in the slot of odin? Just going over everything

Op should be fine with TMB/TMB/TMB. I seen it happened on Verizon. I guess that's how S21 worked compared to previous generation. He's still getting update from Samsung.
