The original firmware, AVA6, has been available for a while for download from Frija or SamMobile. (When I update, I like to have saved the previous firmware in case I need to roll back.)

I can't find AVA6 but only AVA7.

Software should be the same on all S series right?

Unlocked will all be on same build# regardless carrier, Carrier version could be different build numbers .

They were asking about the whole S22 series, though--S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra. Those will each have their own firmware versions.

Yes and that still applies to all 3 series

I received my S22+ from T-Mobile and successfully flashed unlocked firmware. Also, I found out the models for each one. Hope this helps people figure out what to search for.

S22 - SM-S901
S22+ - SM-S906
S22 Ultra - SM-S908

I downloaded all three. The S22 and S22+ shared the same AVA7 build. S22 Ultra will have AVA6 - this is what throws me off.

Correct - kinda strange. Remains to be seen whether Ultra will also get VA7, or just move on to VBx

I got tired of waiting for Ota from t mobile. It's been a bit but was able to download new firmware via Odin. No issues. Except user error I put in home csc so I had to setup my phone again. Otherwise no problem.

Since I have flashed firmware with odin when next update comes OTA will I receive it? Or do I need to continue to flash with each update? I have an unlocked ultra on T mobile.

When you get time can you put someone give me the steps and links to flash unlocked firmware on to a Verizon variant S22U.

I don't have much knowledge on computers so all the help is appreciated. I have a brother that would root and jail brake phones so I'll have him help. Thanks

This is the steps :

Windows computer needed

Latest Odin can Google it from XDA Forums and download the latest should be Odin 3.14.1 / and Frija tool or samfirm (i usually download both)

Download samfirm v0.4.1 tool and frija, extract it with 7zip.

You will extract files for Odin prince comsey 3.14.1once download with 7zip and will do same for firmware with 7zip .

Put your model number then region and select check for updates , then download the FIRMWARE , extract the FIRMWARE with 7zip.

There will be 4 files after you extract the firmware

CSC

Each of those files will go in Odin when you open to the corresponding slots

Home slot don't out anything

CSC USE HOME CSC FIILE TO SAVE DATA /THIS ONLY GOING BETWEEN CARRIER FIRMWARE OR IF YOUR ON UNLOCKED GOING BETWEEN UNLOCKED FIRMWARE

If you going from carrier to unlock firmware keep regular CSC not home CSC and do a back up it will factory reset the device.

connect your phone with cable to computer , once the files are in its slots hit start, once done you'll see pass in Odin and it will reboot





*Make sure you put phone in download mode
*If dont see your phone connected in Odin change cables or ports in computer .
*Never disconnect the cable in middle of flashing.

Thank you. I sent that to my brother to see if he gets that stuff, he's the one that gets into this stuff.

I'm mainly doing this for the feature in picture. I'm getting a tab S8+ and have found out Verizon took that off their phones. I have it on my unlocked fold 3 and want it across the board on my other phones.

Has anyone done this and do they know by changing their Verizon variant to the unlocked this works.
