[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

Is anyone using the "Debloated/Deodexed Froyo" version? If so, does it run smooth? Any issues?

Thanks

About that, so all you are doing is setting up ODIN to flash adrynalynes files right? or are you making changes? Just wondering because it says on his post that he added boot animations and in your list in post one on this it says there aren't any. Sorry, just trying to make sure I have the most up to date.

BTW, my battery life has been absolutely dreadful with 2.3, has anybody had any better luck with 2.4?

boot animation is there, sorry cut and pasted, EB01 leaked kernel isnt the best with battery life, its a lead after all, soon we will have official and custom kernels to replace it with

Thanks to all that makes this site so great and gave me the courage to make my phone better and get rid of all the BS VZW puts on there.

Ok, this was my first attempt at this whole rooting / flashing process. I choosed option #2 and it could'nt of been simpler. The only hic-up I had was in the first step with putting the update zip file on sd card (I was'nt sure what to do with it after I put it there, so I just left it there).

I thought I saved all my settings and emails but some how I screwed that up which was no big deal, just took alittle bit of time to put them back.

update.zip is for use with clockwork...if you dont need clockwork then just leave it on your sdcard and no worries

What kind of stereo do you have? I have sync with my car and would not flash this if I lost that connectivity!
JVC KW-XR810.

I had the installer, with his Android phone on froyo, test it out yesterday before I did the OS reinstall (so I knew it was not working correctly) and his phone worked fine with it. Went home, reinstalled OS, tested last night...tested this morning, then later in the morning back to what it was doing yesterday.

Very aggravating.

I picked up Titanium Backup since I'm getting ready to flash my 3rd rom in 2 weeks (figured it was time to streamline the process). I went to launch it, & it told me that I need root access & to install busybox (which I did). Is it/could it be something I did? Can I do any damage by rooting 'over' the root that's already included in the Odin packages?

go to settings>applications> check unknown sources
go to settings>applications>developments put it in debugging mode
from main screen of titanium, at the bottom it says "problems" click that and accept the update and try again

you can flash these packages over anything ,,,although you may want to disable lagfix if you have that enabled ,,,,if you dont know what im talking about then dont worry about it

Can anyone point me to the easiest and clearest way to go from 2.3 to the just released 2.4 that has boot animations? Do I need to go through ODIN and flash everything all over again? Or is there a faster easier way?

I believe so yes, you will have to go thru ODIN again.

[JUST ROM,TO UPDATE PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF SUPERCLEAN] Super Clean version 2.4 - EB01 Froyo leak root+Froyo ClockworkmodTHIS VERSION DOES NOT WIPE DATA OR CACHE (NOT TESTED)
RIGHT CLICK AND SELECT EXTRACT HERE THE .rar file AFTER DOWNLOADING AND BEFORE USING -->EB01SC24x_DXC.tar (Does not include boot animation so be patient while it loads)

I went from SC 2.3 to just flashing the ROM for 2.4, and especially since it said that it was not tested. Well, consider me on the road to testing.

Powered on, my grid pattern worked. Tried to use a bad pattern first, it failed, and then I used the right one, it worked.

Call log had all calls in it
Went to text msgs and saw that all previous msgs were still there
Sent her a txt msg - it worked (2.2 I lost random msgs to her)
Gmail accounts were in place and checking mail accordingly
Will check GPS on the way home.
All other apps seem to be working without needing to config or any work.

FW version
2.2.1

Baseband Version
S:i500.04 V.EB01

Kernel Version
2.6.32.9

Build Number
SCH-I500.EB01

Should I test or check for anything else?

If not, consider me happy

I kinda figured that was the case and I didn't mean to point out a mistake, I just wanted to check to make sure. Thanks for all your help once again.

oh and on the battery life, I've learned the last 4 weeks with this phone that battery life sucks anyway, so its not a huge deal, I've got charging available everywhere I go now, lol. That said the one thing I have noticed is 2.2 does charge significantly faster now as well.

btw, does anybody know where to find the option to leave the screen on while charging in this version? I can't seem to find it.

Menu > Settings > Applications > Development > ZoMG, someone removed it!

Seriously though, I couldn't find it either. It should have been in the path I show above, but seems to be gone... on purpose? not sure.

Stay Awake Widget - Android app on AppBrain

or

Download StayAwake for your Android phone on AppBrain

Give either of them a try. I am at a toss up for it being on all the time or not. When I was working with App Inventor, it was nice to have the phone on all the time. I'm about to jump back into AI, so I may be trying one or both of these out myself. Thanks for asking about the feature, as it has caused me to place these apps on my back burner.

just to update everyone. The sleep of death is resolved. I flashed from EA28 to EB01 debloated and removed some more stuff, but everything else is working perfectly!!! In love with my phone again....

Attention!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! any odin package with an x (ex. EB01SC24x_DXC.tar found in the original post) in it will be a package that does not wipe data or cache... if we need versions that wipe cache and leaves data please let me know and i will work on it..

these packages will allow you to upgrade just the rom leaving the kernel, modem, data all intact.

i gave you credit on the original post

Bah, I'm a hardware support guy. I don't need a room with windows to the outside world, thanks, or even credit. Still though... sending you a PM... and thank you for the credit. It's nothing but a thing.

I just flashed EB01 debloated/deodexed package through odin without any issues but I've noticed that my gallery is showing some pics that were not there before I flashed. The pics are in folders called "print" and "shut down". I haven't been able to track down where they're saved but wanted to know if anyone has noticed this as well and if it's safe to delete these pics.

answered my own question, I had an unzipped copy of EB01 on my SD card and it was showing the shut down animation png's lol
