[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

So would both of these have google as default search engine? I have used launcher pro and don't mind touchwiz not sure about aosp launcher? Not sure what themes do either? Which one of these should have the better battery life?

i think they both use google from the search key, you can use launcher pro with both... you can use touchwiz with both, but to get touchwiz on superclean you need to find the file and flash it with clockwork.

a theme changes icons and visual things on your phone like different battery charge icon , notification bar and windows ....etc

as far as batterylife they should be about equal since they both use the same kernel

yes but battery needs to be removed from the phone and put in download mode, otherwise you will have problems flashing

try installing these drivers if it is you are having problems connecting HERE

so i tried the drivers you provided but it's still not recognizing it...could it have anything to do with the the ea28 update that they pushed a couple of weeks ago that unrooted my phone? i was told today at a verizon store that in that update they made it so you can't connect to a computer anymore. it would seem that that is correct because i can't get my phone to show in adb devices

when the phone is off , it uses generic drivers so its not the same as it is when its on ,, but try this,, put phone in debugging mode, plug it in , reboot the phone while still plugged in , give it 3 mins , then check adb devices again. if it doesnt see it , unplug it for a 5 seconds then plug back in ,,,if you get a connection then pull the battery and try holding down volume down

switch USB ports, you should be using the ones in the back of the computer, if you already are use another one in the back of the computer....

try different drivers in the software sections here:Samsung

disable any anti virus

are you using the cable the phone came with

is the battery removed during the entire process.....
if the battery is removed/phone connected press and hold volume down for like 10seconds ..or try , with the battery out and the phone not connected press the volume down button and hold it , while holding the volume down button plug it in

WiFi working now

Thanks for the replies guys. I ended up flashing to DL09 and verifying everything worked. Next day - flashed de-bloated froyo, and I could connect to my access point (no changes to router setup), but was only allowed 1 web page's worth of data (google).

Started digging around the phone's menu, looking for any sort of LAN setting control. This is when my wife (who has an Incredible) chips in that she hasn't been able to get any internet over our WiFi since her phone got an OTA update - I think it was from eclair to froyo for her phone.

At this point I started to dig into the router's setup. The problem was tied to the wireless security, but simply turning it off then on didn't work - I had to change from WPA2 TKIP+AES to WPA, and soft-restart the router (no change to either phone's settings). Both phones then got data over WiFi. I then re-set the wireless security to WPA2 TKIP+AES, soft-restarted the router, and both phones were still able to get data over WiFi. I then flashed up to SC 2.4 and am loving it.

Sorry to make a short story long, but it just seemed like the strangest fix to me. Thanks again for all the work, and the help w/ my issue - this is definitely an awesome forum!

the rom credit goes to adrynalyne,,,,have you tried wifi on anyone elses network or just your own?

Make sure the security protocol you use for sf wifi matches up with the protocol you have on your router. WPA can only talk to WPA, WEP to WEP, none of the protocols are backward compatable (WPA2 can't talk to WPA and vise versa)

On your PC check control panel > network & internet > manage wireless networks and see what protocol your using. I haven't hooked up to wifi yet with my sf so I'm not 100% sure how to change the security protocol.

EDIT: I just tried this and it seemed to work. Make sure your SSID is correct end you select the appropriate protocol. I experienced this prob a while ago trying to connect my mac to my home network, I selected wep instead of wpa2 and had issues. Also make sure your router is configured to accept your phones mac address. I have mine set to only accept specific devices so I had to as my phone.

Hope this helps.

Debloated/deodexed has removed verizon preinstalled apps and is set up for easy flashing of themes

superclean has removed verizon and samsung elements , and has added custom elements like different lock screens , and aosp launcher ....etc

Hey Droid!
Can you tell me if Nuance was removed from the Debloated/deodexed version? I want to switch to the debloated version, but i do use Nuance. I remember seeing the app to flash it on, but last I remember seeing, there was problems with flashing it after the fact?

As always...thanks!

Yes, Nuance is still in. I had to remove it myself, I am running deodexed/debloated.

Thanks, Curley! I may switch to Debloated tonight when I get home from work. I've tried to debloat myself, but now I get this irritating FC error from VZ Navigator. I thought I'd removed it, but somethng is still making it try to load. Plus my battery life got sucky again...so I'll switch tonight.

Thanks again everyone!

My battery life is absolutely AWFUL right now and one of the steps to reset the battery stats uses CWM from what I am told. Now correct me if I am wrong, but to boot into CWM Red (I have the EB01 full build) I need to hold the Vol + and Vol - buttons down and then hold down the power button until the SAMSUNG screen flashes twice. I've done that, but it is booting into 'Android System Recovery <2e>'. Shouldn't it go right into CWM Red? Or do I have to apply the update.zip file first, then reboot into CWM?

Yes, you have to apply the update.zip file first by hitting volume down once, then hit the home soft key. this will take you into red cwm, scroll down to advanced, hit the power button, scroll to wipe battery stats, hit the power button.

I found out how to set up our phones so we can reboot directly to red cwm from any method. I was testing out a bunch of different things tonight so I can have answers ready when everyone tries my instructions. I will be posting a how-to thread tomorrow. If you want to try it now you can go to post #2 of this thread:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...acks/61233-few-questions-about-fascinate.html
The reason I am not putting out the how-to thread tonight is I am not going to stay up much longer and I want to be available for a long time to answer anyone's questions once it is up.

Hello, Everyone.
I wanted to Thank Everyone here for the Awesome job you guys have done to bring this update to us, and also for "Dumbing it Down" so 1st Timers like me aren't as scared to dive in...

I have read through many post in here, and I have learned and shared some of the issues others have had...
However, I have come upon an Issue that, though i have read through most of the post here, i have yet to see anyone Post about it.

The Daily Briefing Widget, brought up from the LG. on SC 2.4
The Weather and Calendar Widgets load up Good, however the Yahoo News app does not load up. It simply says To go the news Settings, however, when i click on it, it simply beeps at me. if i click on the weather or Calendar section it takes me to those settings, but the news one wont come up.

If anyone had or has had this issue and you fix it could you let shot me a line with some steps on how to...

Thanks to everyone in Advance :)

OK. So, I applied the sdcard: update.zip and got into CwM Recovery... however, it says "CwM Voodoo LagFix Recovery v2.5.1.x" at the top. Does that mean I have Voodoo installed? Because I know I have never installed it. All I did was update from EA28 stock to EB01 Full Froyo (with Bloatware).

Also, below the menu choices I see the following dialog:

E:Missing bitmap progress_empty
(Code -1)
E:Missing bitmap progress_fill
(Code -1)
CwM Voodoo Lagfix Recovery v2.5.1.x

Anyone know what's up with that? Thanks!

when i download the .tar file it has a .rar at the end. odin won't read it...any suggestions?

@cpark

Download a program called WinRAR... it is an 'unzipping' program (thus the .rar extension on the file). Extract the file to wherever you want and then work with it from there. =)

did it and odin read it fine...now i'm getting a fail message from odin when i pushed it to the phone via pda...what now?
