[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

I used the packages in this thread

the usb thing sounds like a hardware issue

try this for GPS
settings>locations & security>check off VZW locations services and google location servies. make sure you have the latest google maps, open goole navigation and tell me if it works at all

I looked there, and even in all the other menus not associated with the camera and the setting is not there. I even went back threw and put this version on (http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...nmodified-stock-engineering-test-package.html) and still geotagging is enabled with no way to shut it off. Had a friend over today and updated her captivate to 2.2 with kies and she didnt have the ability to turn geotagging on and off, but it was off by default. I was just hoping to find a quick fix, or to feel like an idiot because it was something simple i missed.

What my camera menu looks like.

go to the market and get an app called Geo Eraser, let me know if that helps

Not as good as none being stored, but im not that picky as long as i can get rid of it. I have been a lurker on these forums for a while, I have a friend that deals with, repairs, and dev iphones, and has been telling me to look into it more with having a fascinate. After complete and total frustration, ready to throw our fascinates off the nearest bridge as long as they would smash into a million pieces. Was like many others enticed to these phones with the promises of 2.2 we came from og droids runnin 2.2 to these, and now we finally have the phones we bought. the battery life issue in this posts full version was a little hard to deal with, I will follow up about the bat life on current full version tomorrow after it sits off charge all night. To get to the point it is great to see so many willing to give their time to help others with nothing other than the satisfaction of knowing that they made some ones day. There is no sarcasm in that i try to do the same everyday. You all are great, and have been a huge help. Now get to work on getting ginger or honey for galaxy tab. LOL jk hey you know the drill one problem fixed another to complain about. ;-)

I just want to tag in and thank DroidXcon for the help. Yesterday against my better judgment I decided to try doing all this, as I have NEVER EVER done anything remote like this before....this was a new experience for me. The instructions on page 1 were precise and crystal clear. DroidXcon thank you much for the write up for morons like me on this stuff. I downloaded version 2.5 and I swear to you I couldn't be happier. The phone is so fast and responsive now.
Funny thing was it didn't work when I first tried...why...I never installed the phone USB drivers on the computer LOL. Once I did that, your instructions went fluid! Only catch was my camera drivers, which the phone downloaded on its own; and the new battery readout within the battery is cool (but stops at 96% when fully charged). So far I'm absolutely loving this phone. Everything seems new to me, even though its the same phone. Loving the new available lock screens, the font choices, the calender, everything!!!

Couple questions though:
What happens when Verizon releases their 2.2 version? Will it brick my phone? Will I need to install it over this? Just curious how that will work.
2.2 includes lots of change I know, but does it change anything as far as how the phone internally works? IE, better call quality, better signal? I've always hated how my signal bar jumps around 3G-1X all the freaking time yet my wife's "DX" never does. Thats why I ask.

Anyways, many thanks for the help!!!!!!!!! You made me like my phone again!!

Ok. My GPS and battery are now working.

Wallpaper still isn't working. And this keeps showing up even though my phone is completely unplugged from everything.

it looks like you have a defective usb port,i cant imagine that would be a software thing, we can flash a stock image and if that keeps happening then its def. a hardware port issue.. you are going to have to flash to stock anyway if you are going to take it in.

I restarted my phone and the USB stuff finally went away. I'll keep an eye on it, I definitely don't want to get a new phone since I've only had this for a little over a month. Everything seems to be working except for the wallpaper issue. Thank you so much for your help.

Just flashed SC 2.6 non voodoo. And all I can say is HOLY CRAP that is snappy. I was running EB01 Debloated/Deodexed for comparison. I'm never going back.

Only slow down I've noticed so far is the app drawer does not scroll as fast or as smooth. But it's slight and causes no problem.

I used the tar file and pushed via odin (the non-wipe version) and it only took a few minutes, nowhere near 9 minutes. But it powered down and started back up with the honeycomb animation and I have the new black notification bar and the new lock screens, spare parts, news and weather so all seems good. Maybe it's the 'wipe' versions that take longer.

Been opening and playing with apps and no problems to report, and still finding new things (like spare parts)

One thing I noticed is that I have some screen effects back and some new ones. For instance the little home screen indicator under the dock is back. (I didn't even realize it was gone) I think this is a LauncherPro thing. And when I click Menu/Settings it pops up with a little bounce now, which I don't think is a Launcher Pro thing.

One thing I've noticed and maybe it's in this thread, I vaguely remember reading something but in a 170 page post it's hard to recall (I'll review the change log and do a search) is that with debugging turned off when I plug in USB I don't have the option in the notification bar to mount the device. With Debugging on it works as expected.

Short and long presses both working. It's the little things in life. I hardly ever use that key but hey it works now (and they come up fast). I've got two video players now. I'll hide one using LauncherPro feature for that.

Now I'm off to to find all the little goodies I've been reading about for the past couple of weeks.

No plans to theme, but never say never.

Thanks to Adryn and DroidXcon for all they do. Couldn't be easier or work any better.

Almost brave enough....

Okay...I am almost brave enough to attempt flashing to Superclean 2.5. Almost.

I am running a stock Verizon Fascinate phone. I am new to this phone having only had it one month. But I must admit I am getting weary of waiting for the "official" Verizon Froyo to come out.

I have a couple of concerns. First, the proceedure requires plugging your phone in by USB cable to my PC. I am one of the ones who can't mount by USB. So my concern is whether this is going to even work for me. I don't want to get in the middle of it and have it fail and mess up my phone big time and not being able to fix it myself because I am such a novice. And will Superclean even fix my USB mounting problem? That is the primary reason I want to flash. That and wanting to delete Verizon apps from my phone...the bloatware.

Secondly I am confused by the difference between Superclean 2.5 and 2.6? I don't understand what the tethering option means in 2.6. I do want to tether my phone to my laptop on occasion using Easy Tether. Would I still be able to do this if I go to Superclean 2.6?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Robin

Superclean 2.5 vs. 2.6

Just trying to figure out which version to download.
What are the differences between SC 2.5 and 2.6?

Is one supposedly faster than the other?
Does one offer more features?
Is one more stable?
What does 2.6 offer with nonvoodoo?

Again, thanks for the help!!
