[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

First, many thanks to all who have gotten this Froyo working. Awesome stuff!
I seem to have gotten my phone into a weird state. I originally put EB01SC23_DXC.tar on my phone and then a little later EB01SC24x_DXC.tar. It was working fine, but I had no boot animation and I did see that 24x was later updated to include boot animations (post #849 and after downloading new 24x I noticed it was 75M larger than rar I originally downloaded). So, this morning I re-flashed 24x with ODIN. I now have boot animations, but have re-gained VZW apps (music, nav, etc though I was able to remove then with Tatanium) and lost the extra un-lock screens, quickpanel fixes, and the power down button no longer has "reboot", "recovery" and possibly other options I used to have.
Anyone have ideas with easiest method to get sc24 again. I could re-do full sc24 tar, but would rather not wipe everything again.
Thanks.

Oh man I'm sorry maybe I used the wrong system file.. You will have to go to the super clean thread download 2.4 and flash it with clock work or wait till I get home around 6 jersey time and ill remake the odin file

I think I've almost got it all figured out. Just a few more questions.

I'm running EB01 superclean 2.1.
I have the "all recovery" cwm file from landsharks post.
I have downloaded superclean 2.4 onto my computer.
Do I now just put the 2.4 file on my sd card? then boot into recovery?
I have backed up with Titanium back up.

Do I wipe first? Can someone point me in the right direction for that?

Yes, put 2.4 file on your sd card, boot to recovery and choose install zip from sd card. If you are going to 2.4 from another version of EB01, no need to wipe. It won't hurt anything to wipe cache and dalvik cache though.

No Problem. Not sure when I will get a chance to flash again, so may just wait for your update.
Thanks!

Ditto with above. Did landsharks post then came back to this post. Placed the update zip on my SD card. Now I am booted into Odin (Big Yellow Screen) and click on PDA. It then directs me to find the tar file.

I have downloaded 2.4 but can't get to it via ODIN .... tar.rar file and Odin will not see it.

What I dont understand is how to do this - which I suppose is my issue.
RIGHT CLICK AND SELECT EXTRACT HERE THE .rar file AFTER DOWNLOADING AND BEFORE USING -->EB01SC24_DXC.tar

Help - I belive the extraction process and I are not agreeing.

I had the same problem. the file needs to be extraced. I used winzip. Although it still didn't work...i got some crazy error message. maybe I wasnt supposed to use winzip? I saved the file to my desktop. Then clicked on it, and a new window popped up , prompting me to choose how to extraxt it.

You have to download winrar, install it then when you right click on the .rar file, choose extract here, and the .tar file will be extracted, you will be able to see it and flash it through ODIN.

Download winrar here: WINRAR

I don't have install zip on my sd card. When I got the "all recovery" file it said to remove that install file.

I'm guessing this has been asked amongst these 103 pages, but I'm going to go ahead and ask it again. I currently have the first version of the Superclean froyo, and am wanting to go to the 2.4 version. You mention on the first page that this will not wipe my data etc. If I simply use ODIN to flash the 2.4 superclean onto my phone as is (with the superclean 2.1) will things go smoothly and no erase data, or is that a big no no? Also, are there drastic changes in the 2.4 over the 2.1? I've noticed with 2.1 that I have a lot of force closing issues as well as general phone lag etc. Thanks again for all the help! You guys are always extremely helpful!

OK i re downloaded update zip where do I get install zip?

boot into recovery>VOL up+VOL dwn+ power, you will see the samsung logo cycle twice, on the second time let go

this will take you into Recovery , using the vol down button scroll to apply sdcard:update.zip, use the Home soft button to select.

this will take you into a red recovery screen which is clockwork recovery.

From here using the vol keys scroll to install zip from SD card , use the power button to select.

scroll down till you see the file you want to flash again using the power button to select

once its done hit the back button to go back

then select reboot.

Good luck

No need to use ODIN. You use ODIN to flash .tar files. .zip files are flashed through clockworkmod recovery (recovery, cwm, red cwm). The ODIN files DroidXcon created are an easy way for beginners to get the latest Froyo version, clockworkmod recovery, and root their phones all in one package. You already have the EB01 modem/radio and clockworkmod recovery if you used one of DroidXcon's all-in-one packages. If you want to switch to superclean 2.4 go to this thread:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...om-dl09-super-clean-0-4-eb01-2-4-updated.html
connect your phone to your pc with usb cord, pull down the notification bar (the drop down menu at the top of your screen), and click on the bar that says USB connected. A green Lloyd droid will appear and there will be a gray box beneath him that says "Connect USB", click on that. left click on the Nonvoodoo media fire link and save the .zip file to your sd card. Click the gray bar that says "turn off usb" below the now orange droid, hold down the power button on your phone so the long menu appears and click on recovery. If you boot to stock blue recovery first, use the volume down button once to highlight apply sdcard:update.zip and hit the home soft key to enter red clockworkmod recovery. If you boot directly to red clockworkmod recovery, hit the volume down button until "install zip from sd card" is highlighted and hit the power button. Find the superclean 2.4 zip file, use the volume buttons to scroll to and highlight it, hit the power button. Wait for the install to complete, hit the menu soft key untill you are back at the main red cwm menu where "reboot system now" will be highlighted at the top of the page. Hit the power button and wait for your phone to reboot. You have just gone from whatever version of EB01 you were on before to superclean 2.4 Congratulations.

When you boot into recovery are you booting straight to red or are you booting to blue recovery?

I apologize....it said to uninseatll update zip. sorry I;m still so new to this, I really appreciate you taking the time to walk me thru this.

I'm going straight to red, per your OP.

Just flashed SC 2.4 rebooting now
fingers crossed

IT WORKED! I can't thank you enough!

Good. Recheck my OP about red clockworkmod recovery. I updated it today. Read the update at the top of the OP. Going direct to red cwm will not stay permanent until we get some custom kernels.

anyone else having issues using the Google Voice app? It lags really badly when I click the app icon or go from the dialer to voicemail. I'm just wondering if something is up because it's the only app that's behaving oddly. I'm on the voodoo kernel too

Hey just in case you didn't know, the following is in here:

I just wanted to say a quick thank you to DroidXcon and Landshark. I just finished reading this entire forum and through the work that you two have done I have had almost every question that I might have had answered. This forum has provided the easiest way to take control of the phone and I appreciate DroidXcon for creating this and for both of you maintaining it. Also, thanks to Adrynalyne for his amazing work on the SuperClean Roms. I am looking forward to whatever the next iteration brings.

Also, in using SC 2.4 should the search key at the bottom link to bing or to google? Mine still links to bing and I am wondering if I need to do something specifically to make that link to only google?
