[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

I posted this question a few back. is it difficult to flash through rom manager... specifically cwm 3.x? also I see a few forums that say rom manager doesn't support the fascinate... any truth to that?

@ DXC---- I flashed the full eb01. Titanium Backup says I don't have superuser rights. Does the FascinateRoot_v02.zip work on EB01?
In your post under rooting it says "What builds will this work on: DI01 / DJ05 / DL09".

Are you sure you loaded the EB01 from here? I thought that all versions that DXC have up here are rooted. You may either have to flash again, or check the file you downloaded. You shouldn't have to go out and root a version that is rooted by default. Check you phone settings. What fw, kernel, baseband and build does it show?

So... I am on EB01 stock. If I want to go to SC 2.7 should I flash the WIPE version, or the NO-WIPE version?

Sent from my Froyo Fascinate.

When posted, I would go with DXC's no wipe version. You are already on Froyo. The issue with going to a wipe version is more for folks on Eclair 2.1.

cwm is brand new and rom manager now (after our crys)supports the fascinate, but our devs now need to convert their code to something called edify (no idea what it means) but until then keep using red for themes and stuff,,,,BUT adrynalyne has already converted his files so for his you can flash cwm 3.x from rom manager and flash his files in orange cwm

Hey Dave, that stock version is not rooted. DXC was telling you to flash that one to hopefully wipe away whatever bug in your system was causing a problem. Now that you are on a stock EB01, he is suggesting you try using one of his superclean ODIN packages to get back to 2.6

can his files, adrynalyne's still be flashed in red?

Another question....I have backed up all of my apps that show as available in Astro, but that leaves all of the pre-installed things (one of which is gmail). Will things like the clock and (importantly) gmail app be in the flashed ROM?

Astro doesn't give me the option of backing those up, so I am a bit cornfused.

Ah. Well then. That version isn't rooted. As for being able to root it with the file you were showing, that's the file I used to root my stock rom from VZ. It should work. If not, I will have to defer to DXC

first of all dont panic

if you are using a laptop can you get to a desktop?

if you are already on a desk top do the following :
if you have not downloaded the drivers, please download and install them, you can find them in step 1 of the original poster

the battery should be out of the phone at all times during this process

Use USB ports in the back of the computer,,if you already are, use a different one

disable any anti-virus that you have running

then try to flash again

yeah it will work,,,but why do you want to use titanium?

For all my apps, etc that I backed up. And also from prior instruction when I first rooted. Stupid question, but can I flash sc2.6x now even though Titanium says that I don't have superuser rights?

Not sure about the clock, as I have several. As for Gmail, it is always there when I flash. When I go from one version of Super Clean Froyo to another, I don't have to set anything back up, as it just works. I never even have to use my Titanium Backup Pro to reinstall anything unless I did a data wipe version of the ROM.

So you'll probably just have to do your gmail login and password, but as for the app, no need to install anything.

yeah odin doesnt need super user permission,, when you flash sc2.6x you will be rooted automatically so you can restore from titanium
