Be aware if you use this method it will wipe your data


if you were getting a device not found it means either the following is happening
debugging mode is not on
drivers are not installed properly
phone may just have problems connecting
with debugging mode on and the phone plugged in , reboot the phone when it comes back on wait a couple of mins then see if there is a connection

Just update your firmware. I did, and camera and videos are as great as ever.

Cannot get a yellow box on Odin.

I'm away from my desk give me a bit and ill send you a video on how to install if odin does not see your device it may be drivers or the cable because usually even people with connection problems with the phone on can get odin to at least recognize a connection

I was just saying to upgrade the firmware in the camera when this pops up. It goes away and never comes back. Same happened to me, and many others.

Make sure that you also have the Samsung USB cable that you got in your box. I made that error too when I tried. Don't give up! I was in the same boat and now I am putting themes and what not on my phone!

I saw that you downloaded the drivers but didn't know what else to do with it. Have you tried installing the drivers? Cus just downloading them isn't enough

Just choose yes, then on the next screen there will be 3 options, click the last one, it will update and ask to reboot, just did this last night

watch this video, obviously dont use the drivers for that device but alot of it should help

Well I took the plung and did it...and it worked. I'm now running 2.2.1 and everything seems to be fine so far. I am even getting email from my Exchange server on the stock email client.

Thank you to all the people that spent the time to figure this out and make it pretty darn straight forward for people like me...Thanks again!

Was the use of your son's phone a lot greater than what you used your phone for today? If they were barely used, or used almost identically, you might want to consider re-flashing your son's phone. If stuff is already set up (accounts, contacts, apps, etc.) on his phone, then use the NO-WIPE version of SC 2.8 (EB16SC28x_DXC)... that way it doesn't wipe any of his stuff.

You could just use the WIPE version, but that will wipe over everything - which might be the way to go if there isn't much on the phone to begin with.

Thanks, I installed it with the wipe version. I'll try the non wipe and wipe the Dalvik cache to see if it fixes them.
