[ODIN] Official Froyo ED01 packaged custom ROMs w/Root - Updated 06/12/11

just a quick question. I want to try one of the community roms, with the updated radio. I used odin before so i am assuming that i use the nonvoodoo rom? my memory fails me. thanks again!

All of the ODIN packages are nonvoodoo. DroidXcon and I have not yet figured out how to get voodoo ODIN packages to load. If you want to use the EC01 radio, you can use the no wipe package that includes the EC01 radio. If you want the ED01 radio you will need to use Adrynalyne's thread and flash back to stock DL09. You can use the update.zip files in the thread, but when I flashed back to stock DL09, the OTA updater kicked in right away and I got the EA28 and ED01 updates within about 15 minutes.

Adrynalyne's thread here: http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...70-howto-get-ed01-official-froyo-quickly.html

Just wondering if anyone has had any luck with the -100mv PBJ nonvoodoo kernel by imnuts? I am already at 1.3 with ComaVolt kernel and have good battery life and very stable for the past few days.

ODIN packages will not load with a voodoo kernel included. Read the OP, it explains everything about flashing the kernel of your choice.

I'm on ED03 Can I use CR_NoModem_Nuts_Shark.tar.md5 ?

You can use that one or CR_NoModem_NutsX_Shark.tar.md5 if you do not want to wipe your data. Either one should work. If you want to use the wipe version to start from a clean slate, be sure to back up your data beforehand.

Updated last night 5/16 to the no modem version and the battery is dropping fast.lost 25% in two hours this morning while idle.Activated phone*228-1 and roaming *228-2, cleared bat stats thru CWM last night after update and charged to 100% last night while off. What else should I be trying. I haven't loaded any of my apps yet just to make sure everything was running right first. One question. Is clearing bat stats thru CWM the same as thru emulator?

Yes, wiping bat stats through CWM is the same as through terminal emulator, but you have to make sure you wipe batt stats when the phone is at a full, complete 100% charge. When you wipe batt stats you are basically telling the phone this is 100% full charge so as to sync up what the phone is displaying with the actual correct charge on the battery. If the battery is still acting this way after about 3 days, your best bet is to switch kernels.

Thanks for your help landshark,I guess I'll redo wiping tomorrow after a full nights charge. If this is the -50mv PBJ Kernel, what would I try next?

I've always had great success and battery life with times_infinity's ComaVolt kernel. And it's not just a full night's charge - you have to charge the phone to 100%, power it off but leave it plugged in, charge to 100%, power on while still plugged in, charge to 100%, THEN wipe batt stats. Only after you charge it this way is the battery at a full, complete 100%. Then use it uninterrupted as you normally would until the battery gets to 5%, then charge uninterrupted to 100% while the phone is on. You will not see any results for at least 2 or 3 days of use and charging. Check out gunnermike53's battery thread. I contributed to the content:

Great I'll try that. Thank you again and for all the help from the rest of the crew everyday to get us to the phone we all hoped for.

Landshark,

I'm basically creating a double post. I posted something similar in another thread, but wanted to edit it and post it here for you and other to see. As you well know, I've been able to help a bunch of folks get out of sticky situations, as well as resolve my own, and document them as you and others do here. So, here's a new chapter.

Been gone a while and this is my issu: I was running a debloated version of EB01 for months and months, and had no issues whatsoever. I did this because I was having sms and mms issues with SC, and in lieu of having Adrynalyne try to fix an issue that might only be my fault, I opted to roll back to a more stable and less modified version of a ROM. Flash forward to last week.

I opted to come and modify the phone because I had a little bit of down time while working on projects at work. I loaded the debloated ED01, no wipe, and with only a couple of hiccups, I was good for a couple of days before I opted for the community rom, 1.3 last night.

That said, and after loading the full wipe version, I was seemingly unable to download from the marketplace. I could connect, and would network failure to connect type messages. The issue was that when I clicked okay to accept the permissions, it stopped right there. I never got any FC's on the market app. When I went into settings to clear Market cache, it would never clear. I did this many times, and the process would stay stuck on trying to clear for upwards of 30 minutes before I got tired of waiting. Then I opted to do the full roll back.

I rolled back to DI09, let it complete writing and set up my google account for the marketplace, and then powered off and loaded debloated ED01 and that didn't fix the issue. I did the same process again and tried the com rom, and nothing. I am always performing the load of the wipe versions, and the marketplace has issues. Unil... one time it didn't.

I was able to get Titanium to dl, and my key, and started the process for restoring, and wouldn't you know... Titanium keeps freezing within a few percent. I back out and terminate the process, and when I start it up again, whether I've rebooted or not, it almost always freezes. Oddly enough, there are times when I can't get Titanium to work because it FC's as soon as I boot my phone. Even more odd, when I perform a load with Odin and use the Wipe version of the rom, Titanium comes back and FC's. No other apps are showing up. And here's another. One time after I was able to get Titanium to load about 14% of my apps, I had to back out because it froze. I looked in the app drawer and saw them, I rebooted, and everything was gone after the reboot. I had only the basic load of DI09. Explain that one?

I wouldn't expect Titanium to have issues like this, nor anything else. I've been pretty successful in helping folks out for some months before I had to leave. But now that I come back, I seem to have created a mess where even though I can use my phone as a phone, and sms is working, I can't get it back to a workable "model" of either the com rom, or debloated ED01.

Reason why I'm posting here is because I have the same issue as the OP from another thread where he can't get Market apps to dl, and have used all of my tools and cannot recover for what appears to be a simple problem. I'm open to anyone who has an idea.

Thoughts?

I'm back and forth between work, pt and dr visits due to an new injury I've caused to myself, so please be patient if I don't reply too quickly, but I will give my best for anything anyone has to ask or offer.

SuD.

PS As much as I hate to do this, and is basically the reason why I purchased the full version of titanium (so I could do zero click installs), I am going to find a way to install it and not install the key. I will install everything one by one. Maybe that'll help, but I have to get past the market issue first.

[EDIT] - Eventually rolled back to DI09, then to ED01, was able to download Titanium from the market place, but had to install the system files before attempting to install applications. Some apps wouldn't install after trying to install the community rom. And after 50 reboots and individually installing and downloading some of my apps, all seems to be working. I did nothing special except that every time Titanium froze, I had to reboot. When it froze, I documented the app it was stuck on and did not install it. The apps it got stuck with were related to installing the app and the data. If I installed it without the data, it installed without issue.

Not sure if I'll try ComRom for a while since I went through all of this stuff.

Been out of the loop for a while and the amount of new work is amazing. I'm still on SC2.8 and based on all the reviews on the Com Rom 1.3, I feel it's time to update.

Will the non-wipe odin package of the Com Rom w/EC01 radio install well over SC or should I use the wipe version and do a missing apps and data restore?

Thanks for all the work guys.

yah should be just fine going over SC, I havent used the odin package of it but I would assume would be just fine.

What is the TSM (Team Sbrissen Mod) lock key on the 4Tab unlock option on the lockscreen for? When I lside it, my phone freezes up and I have to re-boot to recover from it.

Also, is CR_EC01_NUTSX_Shark.tar a com rom 1.3 version?

Yes, all the Community ROM ODIN packages contain v 1.3. The TSM tab is a customizable tab you can link to any app you want. You have to go menu=>settings=>TSM Parts=>Lockscreen settings=>custom app and choose an app. After you link an app that way, the app will open whenever you slide the TSM tab.
