[ODIN] Official Froyo ED01 packaged custom ROMs w/Root - Updated 06/12/11

I accidentally just flashed ED01DB_DOx without wiping my cache or data, yet I haven't seen any force closes as of yet...bullet dodged? or should I go back and wipe anyway?

Also I tried to flash CWM 3.0 but I keep seeing that it is still 2.5.1 on the top when I enter recovery. Any ideas on that one folks?

Bullet dodged. Where did you get the CWM 3.0 file you flashed and how did you flash it?

So then is this a CommRom? Like ComRom v1.3? Or is that something entirely different?

I want to go from SC 2.9.2 to using like the ComRom v1.3 along with whatever "themes" are available, but am not TOO sure of which is which version and which is compatible with what..

Sorry if that last paragraph makes NO sense..

The debloated and Comm ROM packages are not the same ROM. The debloated is the debloated/deodexed ROM and the Comm ROM packages contain Comm ROM v 1.3. Themes are listed in post #3 of this thread:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...t-animations-combined-resource-6-02-11-a.html

And JaeKar99 has taken the time to list which ROM the theme is compatible with next to the theme name.

So then if I want to go from currently running SC 2.9.2 with a theme, do I need to go back to EB01 without SC 2.9.2 or can I just flash the Comm Rom via Odin?

I flashed CR 1.3 using this: CR_NoModem_NutsX_Shark.tar

I'm still on NonVoodoo. Wanted to try a voodoo kernel like Coma or OTB. I can just flash the new kernel and enable lagfix and should be good to go? Correct?

Just flash, you will be fine. I flashed straight from SC 2.9.2 to Comm ROM several times during testing

Yep good to go. I'm pretty sure the newest OTB & PBJ kernels enable lag fix for you, but still a good idea & won't hurt anything to enable it manually

looking forward to an ODIN package of 2.0. If you need someone to test I will be able to Sunday night and next week. Need my phone in working order until then.
Thanks for all your hard work.

Perfect timing for 2.0 to come out on a Friday. I will have time to work on packages tonight and tomorrow. As long as I don't run into any problems I should be able to get them ready for testing by Sunday night.

CWM after Odin

Hello everyone. I did the Comm Rom 1.3 via odin the first time around and recently did my first CWM theme flash. Is it safe to use the Comm Rom via CWM for the new 2.0 instead via Odin? Im thinking Id use the one with no kernel.
Right now I have
baseband version ed03
kernel 2.6.32.9
build ed01
and I Odin'd Sharky's
cr nomodem nuts shark
Thanks in advance.

I was also a bit hesitant on flashing roms with CWM, but I can assure you if you just follow the steps it's not really hard at all.

Coming from CommRom 1.3 isn't a problem at all. Just download 2.0, place on sdcard...follow instructions from there. Good luck!

If the -50mv nonvoodoo PBJ kernel from imnuts is working for you, then it is perfectly safe to flash the no kernel version of CR 2.0 in CWM. CWM is the way you would flash most things, and once you learn how to do that, you open up more possibilities for customizing your phone. Just follow the instructions from post #4 of the thread for installation and you should be fine.

Shark, is Comvolt compatible with Com Rom 2.0? I saw in one of the threads here (can't recall which one) that comavolt was not working with 2.0. I hope that's not true because I, like you, have had sod using any version of the otb kernel and undervolted more than -25 mv.

Comavolt has been working flawlessly for a week now(btw, thank you for advocating for it). My battery lasts for ~ 24 hours with moderate to heavy use now. I would have been happy just getting through the work day, but 24 hours! Awesome!

I haven't tried ComaVolt yet. Hell, I haven't even flashed 2.0 on my phone yet. I've only flashed the 2.0 test builds on the fassy I use to troubleshoot and make the ODIN packages. Just got home from work a short time ago, so after I have something to eat I will flash ComaVolt on my second fassy and see what happens. Oh and for anyone else who had SOD with OTB, another possible culprit is Beautiful widgets. I was always using the smaller home widget for a nice clock/weather widget at the top of my main homescreen. I read where someone else was having issues with in including it majorly sucking battery. I switched to Fancy Widgets Pro and no SOD. I'm at -25 for 1000/800, -50 for 600/400, and -75 for 200.

I was also having trouble with Beautiful Widgets. Had just one occurance with sod while using that. Also in my settings I had the update interval set at 3 hours and it would update like every half hour. I'm currently using Minimalistic Text with no problems.

ComaVolt does not work with 2.0 it makes me sad, but I've had good luck with pbj -50 so far, but it's too son to tell about the battery life
