[ODIN] Official Froyo ED01 packaged custom ROMs w/Root - Updated 06/12/11

Hope to be asleep before then. Anyway good job to all you guys with this. Going to wait and see what the reviews look like before flashing.
Having the same issue as drinkhere, bing is the search for the soft key HOWEVER, google is the voice search on long hold. That is after wiping the cache and delvik cache with cwm.
On an aside, doesn't appear that the battery indicator is working either...battery indicator mod shows currently 71% but the default is showing 100%.

Mine is not debinged either. I've flashed twice and rebooted into CWM and wiped cache and delvik cache. Bing is still there when pressing the search soft key. Long press of soft key gives Bing voice search and Bing still comes up when pressing the search button in the menu. Bing is also still in with my apps.
I read that if you come from superclean and flash this new, debinged ED01 ROM that Bing will still be gone as well as all the other verizon bloat., but if coming from an OTA'd stock ED01 build that Bing still remains. Seems to be the case I'm still Binging, LOL!

Can I flash this thru ODIN, and then, in time, no rush, when SC comes out flash right over it?

This is an Odin package. You must use Odin to flash it.
Most likely whatever comes out next can be flashed over this however there could always be some other step involved. We won't know for sure until something else is released and we get the instructions from the developers.
I flashed this last night from 2.9.2 superclean and so far, so good. There are a couple small things from 2.9.2 that are gone now and it would be nice if they came back in a future version:
1. The % of life left on the battery indicator
2. When you push the power button there are now only 4 phone options.. power off, airplane mode, mobile data, and silent mode. There were many more options with 2.9.2 including reboot..which is the one that I miss most.
3. This is oh so minor... when the phone starts up it just says "android" sideways... I liked the pretty flashing colors in 2.9.2.. they reminded me of a visit to Amsterdam O
. I also like the stock "Galaxy S".

For the % on the battery and the power button you can flash sbrissen mods to get the options back when you press power and get the accurate bat %.
Also the android sideways is the bootanimation for ED01 when you flash it in odin. If you want the superclean bootanimation, I'm pretty sure Jaekar has posted it in his monster thread. You have to flash it in CWM or push it in system/media, I dont remember.

I'm not sure what level of debinging Adrynalyne did. Vzw said Froyo for the Fascinate was supposed to not have Bing, and only have Google. Obviously that didn't happen, so coming from stock ED01 without using the wipe package may have this residual effect. Vzw's solution for ED01 was to give users the option to choose their search engine of choice. I am not running the debinged/deodexed right now as I am doing further testing. I will be taking the Easter holiday off from the forums, so during the week I will see what I can find out and do.

If I'm not mistaken, Superclean packages came with the EC10 kernels also.

I am working on getting a second Fascinate through Ebay. When I get that I will use that one strictly for ODINs and trouble shooting. SC is retired, but you will be able to flash whatever comes out next right over this.

Adrynalyne, by his own admission in the debloated/deodexed thread did not do his usual clean job with this ROM, so there will be some things that will be different. Can't blame him, and I don't want him spending much time doing things like this so he can devote his time to working on the "community" rom. There will definitely be ODIN packages for that when it comes out. Sooo...
1. As pikante said, you can flash the sbrissen mods and get that and other things back including the 6 lockscreens.

Correct again Pikante. Adrynalyne started using this same EC10 kernel in SC either 2.9 or 2.9.2.

Happy Easter everyone!!! I know it is bad timing since I just released the packages last night, but I will be taking the holiday off from the forums. I will be back tomorrow to address any questions or concerns. I didn't expect to put out packages so quickly. Fortunately for me DroidXcon did all the work and heavy lifting so all I had to do was put the round peg in the round hole, the square peg in the square hole, etc. So the credit really goes to him.
