[ODIN] Official Froyo ED01 packaged custom ROMs w/Root - Updated 06/12/11

Thanks a million

Hey, I'm new to this forum. Honestly signed up to see landshark's ED01 ROM. It was exactly what I needed to get my phone out of a recovery loop. Owe you big man!

You're welcome. Glad it helped. Be sure to thank DroidXcon whenever you have a chance. They are really his packages, I'm just filling in for now since his Fascinate is hard bricked.

I have a couple of quick, possibly silly, questions. Is the kernel included in the package at the start of *this* thread voodoo capable? When I reboot to recovery I get Red CWM, and the voodoo menu is available, but the lagfix isn't enabled (nor have I attempted to enable it so far). And if it is a voodoo kernel, do I need to do anything but straight up enable it in CWM in order to use it properly?

Also, if I did go with the community ROM, could I drop a different theme over the top of it, like say the Black Alien one? (I really like that theme, heh.)

Thanks ahead of time. =)

As stated in the first post in this thread, these packages are nonvoodoo only. The originator DroidXcon could not get voodoo packages to work and he is much smarter than I at this. We all use the same cwm, so you will see the voodoo menu and see voodoo lagfix at the top of the screen. But that's just because cwm was originally designed for voodoo and modified to work with nonvoodoo. You should be able to flash a theme over this ROM. I saw gunnermike updated his themes for the community rom, so they should work

Thanks for the answers, Landshark, I'm not sure how I missed that nonvoodoo part because I read the OP several times trying to figure it out. Oh, well, lol.

I downloaded the ED01 rom and installed it as part of instructions on page 1. However, when I download the CWM clock work fix mod, and unzip ir all I get from it is recovery.bin. ODIN won't find that file cause it's not a .tar file. Am I doing something wrong? I haven't restarted phone yet, I'm sitting at step 18-19....

EDIT_ I figured it out, don't unzip the file and it works fine. Sorry.

Maybe I missed it somewhere in the pages, but what's the difference in your version vs factory? I installed your version and it looks very factory. So factory in fact that I'm missing the Rolodex style icons and the battery meter inside the battery icon. Any help would be grateful!

should i also wipe the
"wipe data/factory reset"

is flashing the ED01 Debloated/Debinged this late in the game help or hurt if i have already flashed the ED01 Community Rom..???

i think that will answer everything for me.. i know this thing sure nuff if faster and a much quicker GPS Fix if i ride a mile or two... i have not flashed any radio kernal etc ..
i never flashed any when i was SC 292 v. figured whatever came with the rom is what i'd use.. have i about gotten the kinks worked out ??? oh when 292 was famous i couldnt use the EC01 or the EB16 .my sammy went beserk when i did,, but worked fine under EB01. also i have always been at a lose on what radios kernals etc are and of what use

If you check my OP or Adrynalyne's original ED01 debloated/deodexed thread you will see he himself said he did not do his usual clean up of the ED01 build to make this ROM. When I made these ODIN packages I had the same mindset he did - just get it out there to give everyone some type of alternative to the stock ED01. I will be putting together ODIN packages for the community ROM which is obviously much more clean than the ED01 debloated/deodexed. So there is not a huge difference between stock ED01 and the debloated/deodexed ROM. I did not know at the time how soon the community ROM would have been released. Had I known that I may not have put the ODIN packages for the debloat/deodex together and jut waited to make packages for community rom.

This version is debloated.

No hijack intended...hope this is right thread

I'm Rooted - Voodoo-ed - EC10SuperClean_292x_DXC.tar.md5.tar + ec01_radio.tar and all has been great up until now.

My problem is I've lost bootanimation and audible sounds while playing in Root Explorer (tried everything to revive, but no luck) and want to re-odin existing (pulled, but don't know why) EC10SuperClean_292x_DXC.tar.md5.tar. Will I lose my ec01 radio or CWM ? Of course I'm backed up for apps and the like and do realize I may be losing something along the way.

I've been advised to just flash over existing ROM w/Superclean 2.9.2 - (Full ROM) EA15/EB01/EB16 (EC10 Kernel) - Adrynalyne ... which looks like super_frankenclean_2_9_2v.zip. Would that be correct? I'm not sure I have updated EC10 Kernel with this pulled older SC 2.9.2 ROM from March 23.

If it is current, and I can flash a .zip, I now have another problem; CWM won't flash or install. I just tested flashing a bootanimation.zip and it just sits there installing nothing and battery pull is necessary...ugh.

FYI: I believe cwm-Recovery-ALL-3-30-FIX.tar installed

Help in advance

To be safe and get a fresh clean start, I would say flash cwm-recovery-all-3-30-fix in ODIN again. Then after you get the PASS!! notice in ODIN, pull usb cable, put battery back in, boot directly to cwm with three button method, then try flashing super_frankenclean 2_9_2v.zip. This should include the EC10 voodoo kernel. If you want to have another kernel, I would advise rebooting the phone and letting the ROM fully load, then boot back to cwm and flash the kernel of choice.

I'm perfectly fine with EC10 kernel, so I get it. My question is; do I need to wipe cache and then devilik before re-ODIN recovery-all-3-30-fix.tar.

Sorry to be PTA, but I see a Super_FrankenClean_2_9_2v_CWM_FIX.zip...would that work for my possible CWM issues.

Thx bro

I answered this in the superclean thread where you also posted this. No need to wipe before flashing cwm in ODIN. When I was on 2.9.2 and this fixed cwm came out I followed GizmoDroid's suggestion and had nothing but smooth sailing ever since. Flash cwm 3/30 in ODIN, boot to recovery, wipe cache and dalvik, flash super-frankenclean 2-9-2-cwm-all-fix, reboot.
