[ODIN] Official Froyo ED01 packaged custom ROMs w/Root - Updated 06/12/11

I'm not sure what level of debinging Adrynalyne did. Vzw said Froyo for the Fascinate was supposed to not have Bing, and only have Google. Obviously that didn't happen, so coming from stock ED01 without using the wipe package may have this residual effect. Vzw's solution for ED01 was to give users the option to choose their search engine of choice. I am not running the debinged/deodexed right now as I am doing further testing. I will be taking the Easter holiday off from the forums, so during the week I will see what I can find out and do.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Probably should have had this in my original post about the Bing search button issue...I flashed from the SC 2.9.2.

Loaded this up earlier in the day. So far it's running pretty good and my battery life appears to be better with normal use, texts, calls, few apps, etc. Not real big on the TouchWiz launcher after using SC for awhile but if performance continues may keep it awhile. And no Bing on mine, figure because I loaded over SC 2.9.2.

*Also disabled lagfix prior to flashing*

Also, when I hit the power button to activate the airplane mode, I don't have the extra options like recovery.

I think this is because your now running a stock ROM that's just been tweaked a little. But I could be totally wrong about this.

The extra options were part of the 2.9.2 theme as best as I understand. Hopefully the next ROM will include that again.

Thanks guys...I got the answer about the extra options, but, what about having Bing? Is that suppose to happen?

So far the phone is running ok. The only thing is that I lost Launcher, but not big deal...lol

Can I use this theme, Honeycomb_EC01_v4.2.1?

I just flashed both files via Odin on first page (non wipe) and I'm getting nothing but FC's. (fixed) actually my only problem now is that I cannot find Back up Assistant. Am I missing this somewhere? This has ALL my contacts.

Go menu=>settings=> down at the bottom of the settings menu you will find set up wizard, it's in there.

Thanks Landshark.. was panicing and I should have known to look there :P

For me though what I have found to be a better method for the contacts is to export them to the sd card, then after a full wipe and setting up again, just import them from the sd card. When you are in contacts, hit the menu soft key and you will see the import/export option. Just follow the easy steps.

From the moment I boot up the phone I get FC's.. and I used the ED01 - shark file and the cwm - recovery all file.

1.Download and install drivers on your computer HERE

2. Next you will need the ED01 Debloated/Deodexed Froyo tar file which will be placed in the PDA section of ODIN:
Debloated
Use this version if you are coming from an Eclair build (EA28, DL09, DH12, DI01.) This version will wipe your data, so make sure you back it up: ED01DB_DO_SHARK.tar Use this version if you are already on a Froyo Build (DL30, EB01, EC01, or stock ED01.) This version will not wipe your data: ED01DB_DOx_SHARK.tar

[tip]After downloading these files you will need to extract the .tar.md5 file from the .rar file. For visual aid instructions on "how to extract the file" and "how to use ODIN", see post #'s 3 and 4 of DroidXcon's original ODIN thread .[/tip]

3.) You will need to download the ODIN application tool found here ODIN or ODIN MIRROR
4.) You will also need the latest recovery, CWM-recovery-all-3-30-fix, download it HERE
5.) If your phone is plugged into your computer, unplug it now.
6.) If your phone is not powered down, power it down now.
7.) Remove battery from phone.
8.) Launch ODIN on PC.
9.) Plug USB cable into phone.
10.) Plug your Fascinate into the PC via the USB cable that came with your phone.
11.) Press and hold the volume down key until (approx 3 secs) you see a gigantic yellow triangle on your phone, and your phone will be in download mode. The first thin rectangle in the upper left of the ODIN applicate should also turn yellow and identify a com port. You can now release the volume key.

12.) Click on the PDA button in ODIN

Triple check that you pushed the PDA button. Do NOT click the Phone button prior to continuing to step 13. If you choose Phone, you will have bought your Fascinate a one-way ticket to hell.:mad:

13.) Find and double click on the ED01.tar.md5 file you downloaded in step 2 above & click the Start button. (This should take approx 3 to 6mins)
14.) Phone will power down when finished.
15.) Remove USB cable.
16.) Close, then reopen ODIN.
17.) Reconnect phone to USB cable as described above in step 11.
18.) Click on the PDA button in ODIN. (Don't forget the warning about making sure you clicked the PDA button)
19.) Find and double click the CWM-recovery-all-3-30-fix.tar file you downloaded in step 4 above & once again click the Start button. (This should only take 7 seconds)
20.) Phone will power down again.
21.) Close ODIN
22.) Reinsert battery.
23.) Power phone and wait to boot. (Should take approx. 4 mins)

In these steps.

In these steps.

To clear up the FC's boot to CWM, scroll to mounts and storage, make sure it says unmount in front of the top 4 - system, data, dbdata & I can't remember what the 4th is, then go back to main menu, scroll to advanced, then fix permissions. Power button and wait for it to finish, then reboot phone. Hope that works.

I tried this, but its not fixing any permissions. Says done right away. I don't know.. guess I'll go back to SC.

After following the rules and instructions I was able to successfully Flash the no wipe onto my phone. I had used Odin and Adry's method to get the ED01 before and it was working well as stock. I did the no wipe here and everything is looking good and running well. Bing is off everywhere and so are the VZW bloat. My search is on Google and I am happy with the results.

When I finished flashing CWM, I immediately booted into it. I cleared all of the Cache and dlkcache as well. I backed up as well and then booted into the phone. Everything was working without any complaints. Hope this helps to those who are coming from stock and still have Bing as search.

I apologize if this has already been asked and answered, but I just flashed the DOx package and whenever I check the baseband and build it still says "EB01". Should I try to re-odin the package?

What is it that you were running before you flashed?
