[ODIN] Official Froyo ED01 packaged custom ROMs w/Root - Updated 06/12/11

Forgive my stupidity. In anticipation for the newly released community ROM i originally flashed the old EB01 package instead of the new ED01 package.

Amateur hour today :)

Guys, I'm still lost.

I was using SC2.9.2 NV. After following the instructions I was able to successfully Flash the no wipe onto my phone. I had used Odin and Adry's method before without problems.

Why I have Bing while other people doesn't? Which themes can I use?

I tried this, but its not fixing any permissions. Says done right away. I don't know.. guess I'll go back to SC.

Do you have terminal emulator app? If so open it, type su next to the $ and hit the enter key on your keyboard, then a # will appear, type fxpms next to that and hit the enter key. Sit back and watch all the text scroll. When it is done, close terminal emulator.

I don't understand why bing is sticking on your phone. It did not stick during any of the testing. Just about any theme will work.

LandShark, thanks for your honest answer. I'm going to flash a theme tonight.

The thing is that "I HATE BING"...LOL

I don't mind seeing it on my phone since I have Google Services, but, what do you recommend to get rid of BING if anything?

Community ROM that just got released :):):):)

Then, what about Voodoo over non-voodoo? Could that work? LOL

I mean, can I install the voodoo community ROM over ED01 BD DOx?

Yes it will.

When your in CWM and flash the voodoo kernel or ROM, don't reboot. Go to voodoo, press power, and enable lagfix. Then reboot

Yes, I'm comfortable running non-voodoo. I never runned voodoo before. Any advice?

You can still run the community rom on the voodoo kernel but it will be like you are on nonvoodoo. After you flash the community rom in CWM and you use either the menu or search soft key to get back to the main cwm page where "reboot system now" will be highlighted at the top of the page, scroll down to voodoo, power button, scroll to disable lag fix, power button, then either menu or search key again back to the main cwm page, power button with reboot system now highlighted, done. Since you are telling the phone to disable lag fix on reboot, you will basically be running a nonvoodoo version of the kernel included in the ROM.

So LandShark, if I disable the lagfix I'll run non-voodoo and if I allow the lagfix, I'll be running voodoo using the same Community ROM?

Yes, the ROM itself is neither voodoo nor nonvoodoo. It is determined by the kernel used with the ROM. Kernels are either voodoo or nonvoodoo.

EDIT Further - When you disable lag fix with a voodoo kernel you will not get the sound and color enhancements you would receive with a custom voodoo kernel.

Ok, you know what, I'm going to try voodoo and have fun at the same time...LOL

As soon as I get out of work, I'll flash the community ROM and use voodoo...I'll let you know how it work!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your help LandShark.

You're welcome. Just burn that most important rule in your brain - nonvoodoo over voodoo = doodoo
