[ODIN] Official Froyo ED01 packaged custom ROMs w/Root - Updated 06/12/11

Thanks to all those who support, develop and assist the community with all their hard efforts to bring this information to the forums.

NEWB Question: I updated my phone for the first time with the instructions provided in this posting this past Friday, May 6th. I went from the stock version of the Fascinate from Verizon, with Froyo installed by Verizon. Have loved the changes to the phone since I did the upgraded from this posting. Specifically, my question is where do I go from here and when? What should I be on the lookout for, and is there some sort of "state" code name my phone is presently operating under from the upgrade that I can reference for future postings as to what to upgrade again in the future, if new updates are available from the mods, community, developers, etc.. Thanks!

If you used one of the packages in the OP of this thread, you have a debloated/deodexed/debinged version of Verizon's offcial OTA froyo release ED01. I am putting together ODIN packages for Community ROM v 1.3. I had packages completed for v 1.2 and they worked so it's just a matter of switching out the ROM and leaving everything else in the package the way it was and I should be ready to roll those out. There is also another ROM out there based off the ED01 build and that is called Evil Fascination. It should be posted in JaeKar99's Themes, ROMs, Kernels thread located here:

Hey Landshark Thanks for all hard work. I just wondering that u r putting com 1.3 together.
When is that coming out? i am still using 2.9.2 which is super fine for me. But i am getting bored with this one already ^^. I know u r hard working for 1.3 but just wondering. Thanks.

Testing it myself right now. I got 1.2 working before and had a few testers use it successfully. All I had to do was replace the 1.2 file with the 1.3 file, so as long as it works for me I will release them.

i have a question now that i have flashed through odin (i used the wipe version). how can i tell if it worked on my phone do i look at the about phone section in settings?

The ODIN package of 1.2 works really nice testing was smooth. I would like to test the 1.3 no-wipe package as well once you have it created and posted.

Thanks again for your great work.

Depends on what you were running before you flashed. With this package your baseband version will be EC01 and build will be ED01. Kernel version will be the same if you were already on a Froyo build.

Are you referring to the community rom versions? You will not lose the ED01 radio when flashing to any of the community rom versions as it doesn't replace your radio. Also they are not flashed in Odin, it's done in CWM. Unless I'm totally missing what you mean lol. I just only saw there being a debloated ED01 version that wipes data and one that doesn't wipe data in this thread.

Well, I have a pit in my stomach, and I am totally embarrassed about posting this... After successfully following the procedures on the first page of this thread, I simply could not leave well enough alone. Continuing to see the old "Google Search" widget (from the Enhanced Google Search apk) in the widget pick-list when running LauncherPro, I was trying to figure out how to remove it. After reading about what "Factory Data Reset" does (clears account and application data), I decided to try this. Before doing so, I purchased Titanium Backup Pro and backed up my installed apps. Well, I plowed ahead by doing the "Factory Data Reset" from the "Privacy Settings" screen. The phone restarted but has been stuck with a black screen with "Samsung" displayed for the past 45 mins. I am fearful of touching anything at this point. I know...I should have left well enough alone, but too late now. Not sure what I should do, but I am confident this problem can be fixed! Any help would be appreciated. Of course, feel free to lambast me here as I am sure I deserve it. Thanks in advance.

[TIP]Never do a factory reset from within a custom rom. [/TIP]

Just reflash the rom again , then restore from titanium.

Thank you...so it is safe for me to remove the battery? The phone does not respond to any action I take at present. I will repeat the steps on page 1 of this thread when I get home this evening.

yeah you can pull it . the only time you should really worry about your phone is when it does not power up at all, besides that almost everything is recoverable. As is you are fine.

Back in business! Thanks so much!

Well, the flippin' extra "google" search widget is still there, but I think I'll leave well enough alone!
