Note that Leandro P is an anagram for Plan Redo.
And Penal Rod.
And Lap Drone.
And No Rep Lad.
And La Nerd Op.

I could go on, but go to your own favorite anagram generator site and behold the anagramatical wonder that is Leandro P. Don't drink milk while you're doing it, lest it come out your nose.

Bad news on the front page of AC. :-(

Not necessarily bad news, it's just that we probably won't get it by the 31st. At least they're saying something about it.

Also, Leandro P. is the rep that someone spoke to last week, who also stated that the rollout was going to be last week. So, not too reliable.

The FB update could have been worse. They could have said "Sorry, we decided to no longer update the Droid to 2.1. Enjoy 2.0.1 until the end of time." That would have been BAD. This update, though not helpful, still shows they are trying to deliver to the customers. Key word though is "trying."

This will be funny when April first comes and they say "GOT YA! We never really planned on giving you 2.1....(hehehe)

I'm still convinced it's that ****ty BitFone company is to blame here. I can't imagine there's a whole lot to fix, unless they're adding features or locking it down for root.

I agree. My phone works. I will live until the update drops. I mean I want 2.1, but I can wait. I do not have any hard feelings towards VZW or Motorola. It's technology, $h1t happens.

First of all, Q1 isn't over. Second, people need to be patient. Yeah, it blows that they haven't given us 2.1 yet, but whining will do nothing (really!). We'll get it soon. Soon, hahahahaha. But yes, soon. Your phones work fine. Root if you can't wait.

Root if you can't wait.

And thats where the problem lies. Many people including the nerds that don't post on this forum don't wanna root for many reasons...the biggest being, they don't want to void their warranty. Can't force people to do things to their phone they don't feel comfortable doing. That's why they are so anxious to get ota 2.1. Furthermore, although nothing is that messed up with 2.0.1 that people are jumping ship...more and more this whole OS update is starting to sound like the Storm. "Oh yeah, you'll get it this date, oh no better yet, this date". "Its for performing enhancement. We want to give you the best product". You can hold on to a release for 10 yrs and I guarantee it won't be perfect, let alone the best. Someone will find something wrong with it as they always do.

This is what baffles me. We were literally hours if not minutes away from getting 2.1. Then all of a sudden its a little behind. Then someone made a mistake. Then the ota servers were down. Then it was said that it should be released "Soon". Then they said a "selected few" received the ota. Now they're saying they're having some developmental issues and the release is once again "Soon".

I for one don't care. I'm rooted. And I HAD 2.1. It was buggy as hell IMO. BUT I also understand why people are becoming impatient. Gotta keep an open mind and be apathetic to others.

With all these milestone updates, is there the update.zip for us to do it manually from that?

Uh... Buggy as hell eh? I've been running 2.1 since I got my replacement (a day or so) and have yet to have an issue with it. I was even running it on the droid I dropped on accident and started boot looping (my last droid) which I'm 100% sure that had nothing to do with 2.1 and it had been running fine since Adamz released smoked glass 6. I highly doubt you were having any issues that were short of user error/task killer since I and many others have had no issues with ese53 in general.

Furthermore there are guides to unrooting that make it impossible to tell if you were rooted or not (such as the stock nandroid backup or sbfing your phone). If you have to return your phone for any reason just run that nandroid backup or worst case scenario you can only get to boot loader you sbf your phone and take it back. Either way its like you were never rooted.

Milestone is GSM and Droid is CDMA. Even if you could get a hold of that update.zip it wouldn't work or could cause damage to your phone.

This is obvious.

I figured one of those kids out there could get around that little radio issue.

I can't remember but I think the one person that was working on Milestone for droid dropped the project for one reason or another. Not sure though.

Darn, because the port would be cake otherwise!
