Yep get the internal memory widget and look at the difference between koush's Rom and Pete 's

I never once had problems with ATK, Before and after the update. The update itself blew ass for my phone, pure and simple.

Task killers are more harm then good because it doesn't allow programs to close themselves properly. You are running Linux. In Linux when programs aren't being used they get NO cpu cycles and they get their memory cached out or the program gets closed all together. With a task killer they don't get to relinquish their memory propery. Its just like ending the process notepad while you have something typed in it. You don't get what you typed back since you've yanked the process. Plus to add to that you now have a program running all the time using memory and cpu cycles just killing tasks.

Stop using task killers and ten dollars says your phone will run 100% better and smoother.

I've been using ATK for around a month and haven't incurred any problems. My phone still runs fast/smooth as always and the app really helps with the battery life.

Ok ok guys, take this to a different thread. Back on topic.

10 days!

How many think the Droid will actually truly be the second android device to run 2.1 on the market? Or do you think the Eris or Moment will beat it?

if anything, it may drain faster. the android os is ment to run multiple apps at once so it will kill what it needs to as the phone runs. When i used the app i noticed a faster drain in the battery.

10 days? is that what they are calling for, for the release date.... i cant wait for 2.1 im getting fru repleacement in the mail tues mabe it will have 2.1 lol

I doubt that this OTA will make the overall OS smaller.

I bet, if anything, it'll make it larger

It isn't out of the question. Apple just did that with OS X. Snow leopard came out and vastly cut the size of the OS down several gigs. I'm not saying I think that is going to happen... but it could..

It's a 14.8MB update. I doubt a lot will change size-wise. I still maintain that we'll be waiting until the 31st, if not later than that. Cue uproar.

10 days until the 31st. The 31st is THE last day that they promised it'd hit by (By end of Q1)

No, thats what they did with the OS update.......not the OS itself.

We are stuck with our phones for 2 years. That's a long time for Geeks like us to have one device when there are so many new devices coming on marked every quarter.
Why do we want the update? It's like getting a new phone.
