Official 2.2.2 Optimus V

Really, there isn't much here.
The biggest thing is an update to email, and the radio.
This update breaks the ability to use wifi tether also there is no radio in this we'll have to use one from the s or somehow get one from the devices that came with the 2.2 update

Hi, I some people wanted the 2.2.2 Optimus V FW. I backed this up as soon as I rooted. I dumped the recovery and 2.2.2 nanddroid backup maybe you guy can build around 2.2.2 instead?
here and enjoy:

recovery: http://db.tt/7Lpp7BS

nand2.2.2: http://db.tt/yAHXlu3

You should slip into QPST and backup the PRL and post it

Also how do we get the new radio on our fones? Does 2.2.2 have better data?

used to be able to pull it off of phones using dd but I'm not finding it

Still at least we get the radio fix that had been floating around curious what is the email fix?

No radio? As in FM radio? I thought that hardware was left out.
There certainly wasn't a stock app for it.

I haven't had a chance to really pick it apart yet so I'm not sure.

I did some digging though and the email update is the only significant official Google Android change. It was considered a very minimal update. Anything else changed was by LG and Virgin, which makes it a bit easier to figure out.

I happen to have a stock Optimus S 2.2.2 rom to pull from.

I haven't really noticed any change in the signal quality because I live in NYC (almost always full bars). I will post the prl dump tomorrow and just to be certain, I don't have to be in the stock rom right? Anything else I should dump for you guys?

what I mean by stock rom is it never changes if I flash a custom one?

No the radio is an image just like the boot.img system.img and so fourth.
As for wireless tethering I used to use tethering widget since it doesn't require root and also has usb tethering but the 2.2.2 update doesn't allow it to tether

I just converted this to a CWM .zip

I'll test it then upload a link. I'm not sure if anyone noticed but I think this was temp-rooted.

It's rooted, Superuser tried to install or update as soon as I hit the Market.

Oh okay, never looked at it that close.

Unfortunately my customers keep calling and distracting me, it will be later tonight before I can do much I guess.

CWM .zip flashable ROMs for 2.2.2

This download has the scripts for CWM 3.x (newer) recovery (orange text)

This download has the scripts for 2.5.x (older) recoveries

From my experience:
-Newer Google Apps
-And 3G speed is still just as slow as before. This isn't the new V5 baseband for sure.
-The tethering patch is no problem for us right? Because we should just be able to re-add wifi tether support into custom ROMs. That fix would only affect unrooted stock users.
-The good news now is we may not have the latest version of Android but at least we now have the latest version of froyo.

When I pulled the SD card out of the phone to copy the ROM from my computer, the eject spring launched the card through the air lol. Really strange, how often does that happen?!

LOL It happened to me about two weeks ago. The worst part was that it happened at night while I was on my PC and the room was entirely dark. It took me an HOUR trying to find it.

Bumblebee and Harmonia both have the latest Google Apps already in them.
The only significant change for Froyo itself is the email app. Anything else changed is VM or LG and not part of Froyo.

V5 won't necessarily increase your 3g speed. We are limited by the network itself.

My card goes flying all the time.

I thought the major reason for 2.2.2 was the droiddream fix to eliminate the exploit?

Just restorwd the 2.2.2 update from my aosp 2.3.4 build and have no complaints. Its quick and havent found any bugs yet.

so i flashed this to my phone all it did was update some apps and stuff didn't update the firmware and changed the android version from 2.2.1 to 2.2.2

i finally was able to fix the accelerometer but i can't use a custom kernel and battery life seems worse than 2.2.1. I am getting tired of changing roms even with titanium backups.
